About the Job

Requirements

  • Seven or more years in development, partnerships, marketing, sales, or an adjacent field, including experience with major gifts, corporate giving, or sponsorship.
  • Demonstrable, current relationships within the Bay Area technology ecosystem and a track record of converting those relationships into introductions that led somewhere; candidates should expect to evidence this specifically.
  • Working knowledge of how technology wealth gives, including donor-advised funds, appreciated stock, matching programs, family offices, and philanthropic advisors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the judgment to pitch to executive and technically literate audiences.
  • Fluency with customer relationship management discipline; Salesforce experience is required.
  • Bay Area based, with the ability to be physically present in the ecosystem.
  • Comfort operating with high autonomy in a remote, fast-moving organization across a significant time-zone difference from headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a segmented map of the Bay Area giving landscape, covering companies at or approaching liquidity; founders and executives with declared or emerging philanthropic intent; corporate social impact and employee-giving functions; donor-advised fund sponsors, family offices, and philanthropic advisors; and funder collaboratives and giving circles active in global development, education, and food systems.
  • Prioritize a target list of 50 named prospects with a stated rationale, estimated capacity, and route to introduction.
  • Provide a written point of view on where Food4Education’s mission has genuine resonance and where it does not.
  • Generate qualified warm introductions from the consultant’s network and through systematically cultivated second-degree routes.
  • Secure and prepare speaking, panel, and convening opportunities that place Food4Education leadership in front of relevant audiences.
  • Represent Food4Education at relevant Bay Area events and identify gatherings where its presence is worth the cost.
  • Advise on and, where appropriate, help design a Bay Area convening hosted or co-hosted by Food4Education.
  • Develop a differentiated partnership offer for Bay Area companies and newly wealthy donors, spanning corporate giving, sponsorship, employee engagement and matching, and skills-based collaboration.
  • Translate Food4Education’s impact evidence into materials credible to a technical audience, emphasizing unit economics, systems design, and measurement rather than sentiment.
  • Work with Food4Education communications to adapt existing collateral rather than commission new production.
  • Deliver an inception note, Version 1 of the ecosystem map and draft target list, and an agreed engagement calendar during Month 1.
  • Finalize the prioritized target list with introduction routes, begin outreach and make initial introductions, draft the US technology partnership offer, and assess readiness for gift instruments and matching platforms during Month 2.
  • Make a joint go/adjust/no-go decision with Development Team Leadership on priority leads at the Month 3 review gate.
  • Maintain the agreed monthly introduction and cultivation cadence, put the final partnership offer and supporting materials into use, advance at least two substantive partnership or gift conversations to a stage where Food4Education leadership can solicit, and deliver the closing report and handover pack during Months 4–6.
  • Report to the Head of US Philanthropy through a weekly 45-minute one-on-one and short written weekly updates covering pipeline, introduction status, what is working or not, and what is needed from Food4Education.
  • Log all contacts, conversations, and next steps in Salesforce.

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience with technology corporate philanthropy, employee-giving programs, or cause-related partnerships.
  • Experience fundraising for global development, education, or food systems organizations.
  • Familiarity with venture, accelerator, and corporate innovation communities.
  • Genuine interest in what a school day looks like when a child is not hungry, and the ability to tell that story to people who will not be moved by a photograph.

About the Company

Food4Education

Supports Africa’s school feeding programs

Food4Education accelerates Africa's school feeding economy to ensure no child learns hungry. It operates an end-to-end ecosystem that connects schools, suppliers, funders, and government partners to plan, procure, and deliver nutritious school meals. The platform tracks funding, meal delivery, and nutrition data to keep operations transparent and efficient, helping schools feed students reliably. What sets it apart is its focus on local supply chains, collaboration with public and nonprofit partners, and data-driven management to strengthen the entire school-feeding system rather than offering a single product. The goal is to provide every child with consistent, nutritious meals at school, supporting healthier learning and improved educational outcomes.
