Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One to three years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation, is required.
  • Strong knowledge of banking and finance, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
  • An established understanding of litigation laws as they relate to individuals, partnerships, and corporations is required.

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools is required.

Responsibilities
  • Draft and file legal documents such as briefs, complaints, motions, subpoenas, and summonses using firm templates and attorney-provided information.
  • Support the discovery process by preparing for depositions, drafting and responding to written discovery requests, and assisting with expert discovery preparation.
  • Manage and conduct document reviews; prepare documentation regarding criteria changes; and track and report review progress and results.
  • Assist with trial preparation by creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating with opposing counsel and courtroom staff.
  • Perform and oversee simple and complex cite checking and proofreading of briefs and other legal documents.
  • Conduct research and use legal technology tools for electronic discovery and case management.
  • Coordinate multi-document filings in federal, circuit, and state courts, including electronic filings.
  • Draft general correspondence, memoranda, and reports from handwritten notes, dictation, and other sources, ensuring accuracy and clarity; deliver correspondence and documentation promptly through appropriate methods.
  • Manage scheduling and travel arrangements for court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls; coordinate itineraries, process travel reimbursements, and maintain attorneys' calendars and due dates.
  • Establish and maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems and records.
  • Enter attorneys' billable time and submit it to accounting by monthly deadlines.
  • Perform administrative tasks including printing, scanning, assembling exhibit binders, and preparing shipping labels and certified mailings.
  • Sort and review incoming mail and documents; answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide assistance with other departmental activities and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Commercial litigation experience is preferred.
