- Standardize and implement published procedures, evaluate innovative techniques, and develop new assays and protocols to support research objectives.
- Maintain high assay performance and protocol reliability by conducting regular quality control and reproducibility assessments.
- Compile, present, and discuss experimental findings and scientific insights with the Principal Investigator in a timely manner.
- Maintain and monitor the proper use of laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve experimental issues and equipment-related problems.
- Draft, write, and edit scientific manuscripts, journal articles, abstracts, and progress reports related to the research.
- Participate in laboratory meetings, departmental seminars, scientific presentations, and publications.
- Manage research inventory records and coordinate the timely ordering of laboratory reagents and supplies.
- Participate in establishing job requirements and performance goals and perform duties at the expected level of competency and professionalism.
- Candidates with a recent Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or Neuroscience are highly desirable.
- Five years of postgraduate research experience in basic science.
- Expertise in mouse models of wound/fracture healing and/or skeletal stem/progenitor cell biology is highly desirable.

Riley J. Williams III, Chief of the Sports Medicine Institute at Hospital for Special Surgery, has been named Venue Medical Officer for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He will coordinate medical care for athletes and officials at matches in the New York/New Jersey area, including the final at MetLife Stadium. Dr Williams will serve as liaison between FIFA and local medical providers, building on HSS's designation as one of three US hospitals recognised as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence since 2014. He currently serves as team surgeon for the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty and New York Red Bulls. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is deploying AI agents for patient scheduling and triage through a collaboration with Ema Unlimited. The 24/7 service uses conversational AI to assess patient conditions via web, text or phone, then books appointments with appropriate clinicians based on location, insurance and availability.
