Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $74,426.62 - $81,130.82. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidates with a recent Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or Neuroscience are highly desirable.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Five years of postgraduate research experience in basic science.

POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES

• • Design and execute experimental procedures and protocols involving cell and molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, histology, immunological assays, polarized and fluorescence microscopy, and animal models, including mouse breeding and genotyping.

  • Collect, analyze, and report experimental data to the Principal Investigator in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records and databases of all laboratory work and experiments.

  • Apply standard scientific protocols to experiments; optimize and improve existing methods; and develop, establish, and validate new laboratory procedures.

  • Standardize and implement published procedures, evaluate innovative techniques, and develop new assays and protocols to support research objectives.

  • Maintain high assay performance and protocol reliability by conducting regular quality control and reproducibility assessments.

  • Compile, present, and discuss experimental findings and scientific insights with the Principal Investigator in a timely manner.

  • Maintain and monitor the proper use of laboratory equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve experimental issues and equipment-related problems.

  • Draft, write, and edit scientific manuscripts, journal articles, abstracts, and progress reports related to the research.

  • Play an active role in laboratory meetings, departmental seminars, scientific presentations, and publications.

  • Manage research inventory records and coordinate the timely ordering of laboratory reagents and supplies.

  • Complete all required training related to laboratory activities in a timely manner, including C-14, animal use, hazardous materials handling, and laboratory safety training.

  • Participate in establishing job requirements and performance goals; perform duties at the expected level of competency and professionalism.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong scientific writing skills, along with expertise in mouse genetics, light and confocal microscopy, and gold-standard cell and molecular biology techniques, are required. The candidate is expected to have one or more high-quality first-author publications in cell biology, disease mouse models, or related fields. The candidate should be highly motivated, productive, and interested in pursuing a research career.

SKILLS PREFERRED

Expertise in mouse models of wound/fracture healing and/or skeletal stem/progenitor cell biology is highly desirable.
