- A bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies to complex systems or mission environments.
- Hands-on experience developing and analyzing Systems Modeling Language models and system architecture.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering and Systems Modeling Language modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, or comparable platforms.
- Experience translating mission needs, system requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and relationships into model-based representations.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, architecture development, interface analysis, traceability, verification, and validation.
- Ability to assess technical performance, feasibility, integration, and architectural alignment and communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong technical documentation, briefing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to report to the designated work location in Dayton, up to full time, based on customer needs.
- Develop, analyze, and maintain Systems Modeling Language-based system models and architectures.
- Evaluate system performance and technical feasibility.
- Provide systems engineering recommendations supporting modernization of intelligence products and workflows.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, modelers, mission analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to translate mission and technical requirements into traceable model-based representations.
- Ensure models effectively support engineering analysis, integration, and decision-making.
- An advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering within the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, aerospace, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or other complex mission environments.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework, Unified Architecture Framework, or other enterprise/system architecture frameworks.
- Experience integrating Model-Based Systems Engineering with modeling and simulation, digital engineering, digital thread, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with model repositories, configuration management, model governance, or collaborative model-development environments.
- Knowledge of modeling ontologies, taxonomies, data standards, and model-based analytic workflows.
- Experience using model-based analysis to assess system performance, mission effectiveness, technical risk, or alternative architectures.
- Relevant systems engineering or Model-Based Systems Engineering certifications, such as Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional, INCOSE Associate/Certified Systems Engineering Professional, or equivalent.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering, intelligence, software, modeling, and mission teams.

SPA taps Raj Badhwar as CIO. On January 28, Systems Planning & Analysis (SPA) announced that Raj Badhwar has joined the company as chief information officer (CIO). Badhwar serves on SPA's executive leadership team and reports to Chief Executive Officer Rich Sawchak. SPA has acquired Group W, enhancing its capabilities in mission-critical modeling and simulation for defense. This acquisition unites SPA's analytical insights with Group W's expertise in data science and wargaming for the DoD. The merger aims to create a leading defense modeling and simulation company.
