Requirements
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, elastic distributed systems for horizontal and vertical scaling.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of components of scalable distributed systems and begin architecting those components.
  • Define scalability requirements for owned components and ensure design and implementation requirements are met.
  • Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing and high-throughput requirements.
  • Design systems for elasticity, fault tolerance, durability, availability, and in-service upgrades.
  • Implement redundancy, replication, automatic failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
  • Define KPIs and telemetry and build dashboards, telemetry systems, and alerts to monitor system health.
  • Design functional and correctness requirements and complex fault-injection and brownout test scenarios.
  • Implement data replication and synchronization to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Diagnose, debug, and resolve active production issues and support ongoing operations.
  • Develop strategies that prevent customer interruptions during maintenance and issue resolution.
  • Serve in operational support rotations and guide incident response and root-cause investigations.
  • Implement security measures, execute remediation plans, maintain compliance, and keep documentation current.
  • Develop and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure.
  • Create and follow change-management plans for patching, updating, and rolling back applications.
  • Manage and coordinate moderately complex tasks, timelines, deliverables, and work across projects.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.
