Requirements
  • A 2- to 4-year degree in a related Engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant, proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience is required.
  • Skilled in interpreting product and manufacturing drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
  • Skilled in using Siemens NX and Teamcenter computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems and product data management systems.
  • Knowledgeable in 4- and 5-axis milling machining processes.
  • Knowledgeable in programming conventional milling machines online and offline.
  • Expert knowledge of NX parametric model definition tools and assembly modeling with interpart linking.
  • Knowledge of designing component fixtures related to milling machining processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Must be able to commute to the Winston-Salem location using personal transportation and meet the required working hours.
  • Must be able to work in a shop-floor environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Develop manufacturing processes for new power-generation turbine airfoil components and provide ongoing shop-floor support for non-conventional machining and related processes.
  • Own product manufacturing from development through project completion, including developing conventional machining processes for engine-run and new power-generation turbine components.
  • Assist with shop-floor execution, perform data analysis to drive process improvement, and work with Product Engineering to address non-conformances and improve design manufacturability.
  • Collaborate daily with Manufacturing Engineers, Fixture Engineers, CMM Programmers, and Set-up Operators.
  • Determine appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machines to optimize multi-axis milling production of rotating blades and stationary vanes.
  • Develop and implement CNC programs for complex machining processes on multi-axis milling machines.
  • Support development of manufacturing quality control plans and part inspection plans.
  • Support shop machinists in executing manufacturing processes and complex machining activities.
  • Assist and provide direction for designing and developing machining-process fixtures.
  • Design specialty cutting tools for precision form milling.
  • Collaborate with management, product engineering, peer engineers, and operators to establish high-quality, stable processes for complex conventional machining of rotating blades and stationary vanes.
  • Lead development and qualification projects, including scheduling, design of experiments, experimentation, reporting, and documentation; own due dates, results, and costs for assigned activities.
  • Review in-process product quality control information, including manual and coordinate-measuring-machine dimension checks, and work with production personnel to adjust machining processes.
  • Work with production personnel to implement, troubleshoot, and improve machining and associated processes.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Engineer on root-cause corrective analyses.
  • Communicate with customers to understand requirements and communicate process deviations, including non-conformance reports.
  • Lead continuous process improvement for machining processes and methods through analysis, solution development, and implementation; assess manufacturing data, identify improvement opportunities, and lead teams in implementing changes.
  • Support quoting efforts by providing cost estimates.
  • Review tooling inventory and adjust stocking levels based on production-run usage.
  • Lead and support capital expenditure projects and return-on-investment calculations.

Hillhouse invests in Quest Global to accelerate engineering growth

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Quest Global specialises in aerospace, automotive, energy and semiconductor sectors. CEO Ajit Prabhu said the investment validates the company's differentiated value proposition and growth strategy. Hillhouse is acquiring a 5% stake in Quest Global at a $4.5 billion valuation, outbidding Temasek in a pre-IPO round. The deal represents a significant jump from Quest Global's previous $1.8 billion valuation when Carlyle Group acquired a stake in 2023. Temasek had also been planning to purchase approximately 5% of the engineering services company. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
