Requirements
  • Build end-to-end systems and tackle difficult technical problems.

Responsibilities
  • Build browser agents that navigate legacy systems, government portals, and third-party platforms by clicking, scrolling, interpreting unstructured data, and adapting to interface changes.
  • Implement computer vision, Document Object Model understanding, and robust error handling at scale.
  • Operate agents across languages and regulations while reconciling entities and disclosures in a global risk graph.
  • Process risk signals at high volume with sub-second decisions using distributed inference, caching, queue orchestration, and self-healing data pipelines on Amazon Web Services.
  • Build a deep-research pipeline that prevents large language models from confusing similar entities.
  • Own features vertically and ship product functionality.
  • Complete the interview process, including an introductory call, technical screening or take-home assignment, deep-dive technical interview, and short paid in-person trial.

Sphinx provides AI-powered compliance software for financial institutions, automating KYB, KYC, and AML tasks. Its browser-native AI agents run inside a client’s own tools (like case management systems) to mimic human actions—performing due diligence, assess alerts, verify documents, and monitor transactions—without heavy engineering. The agents learn a company’s procedures and initially suggest human-approved decisions, with the goal of moving toward end-to-end automation as confidence grows, reducing manual reviews and backlogs. The platform is sold on a subscription basis and targets banks, fintechs, credit unions, and crypto platforms in North America, Europe, and Asia, aiming to expand into more markets and deploy more compliance agents.

Founded by Alexandre Berkovic and Chrisjan Wüst, Sphinx claims its agents have processed millions of alerts across over a dozen regions. The company cited customer Equals Money achieving a 94% reduction in false positives. Sphinx targets the $200 billion annual compliance market, positioning its technology as operational infrastructure rather than additional software.
