About the job

Requirements
  • 10–20 years of finance experience, including 3+ years as CFO, Group CFO, or VP Finance with full profit-and-loss and balance-sheet accountability.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with a sell-side or minority sale transaction process, including personally building the model, confidential information memorandum, data room, and diligence responses and explaining what went wrong.
  • Multi-entity holding-company or portfolio experience across several different businesses, including consolidation and capital allocation.
  • Ability to value software, subscription publishing, services, and fee-earning investment businesses using appropriate sum-of-the-parts methodologies.
  • Experience owning unit economics in a business with meaningful paid acquisition spend, including customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, payback, and front-end versus back-end monetization.
  • Multi-jurisdiction experience with real consolidation, ideally including the UAE, the US, and Europe.
  • Experience owning relationships with external counsel, auditors, and transaction advisers.
  • Fluency in both International Financial Reporting Standards and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and ability to defend technical positions under scrutiny.
  • Demonstrable use of AI tools in finance work, including examples of tools built or processes automated.
  • Communicate directly and challenge founders with data in real time.
  • Be credible with both private-equity partners and media buyers.
  • Work entrepreneurially and effectively in ambiguity, building solutions without waiting for a brief.
  • Maintain accurate, disciplined reporting.
  • Work hands-on with financial models and details when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Own the sum-of-the-parts valuation model, including methodology, comparables, defensible assumptions for each business unit, and the consolidated group valuation.
  • Identify and drive the highest-value levers to increase group enterprise value, including margin, retention, revenue quality, recurring mix, entity structure, and synergies between units.
  • Prepare the group for institutional readiness with three years of clean, comparable financials per entity, a quality-of-earnings-ready position, a populated data room, and a diligence-ready control environment.
  • Build the group equity story, information memorandum, and management presentation, and represent the group credibly with institutional buyers and advisers.
  • Run capital-event activities alongside the CEO and external advisers, including buyer engagement, diligence management, negotiation support, and post-transaction reporting obligations.
  • Design group-level employee incentive architecture to align employees before a transaction.
  • Design the holding-company structure, including entity placement and jurisdiction choices, with counsel and tax advisers.
  • Select and implement the group ERP and consolidation platform, owning selection criteria, sequencing, and delivery.
  • Build shared services where they create margin and demonstrable synergy value, while preserving unit-level clarity where shared services would harm it.
  • Set intercompany and transfer-pricing policy across entities and jurisdictions.
  • Produce unit-level profit-and-loss statements that consolidate cleanly and show leadership which businesses earn their capital.
  • Own the capital-allocation framework for operating cash across paid media, headcount, software development, fund seed capital, acquisitions, and reserves, with explicit hurdle rates and time horizons.
  • Allocate capital across assets with different return profiles, risk characteristics, and payback periods, and defend trade-offs to the CEO with supporting models.
  • Own group headcount and cost strategy.
  • Own customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, lifetime-value-to-customer-acquisition-cost ratio, return on ad spend, cost per qualified customer, contribution margin, and cash payback by funnel, offer, channel, and cohort.
  • Own front-end versus back-end monetization and model the timing mismatch between current media spend and payment-plan collections over twelve months.
  • Improve pricing and offer-ladder economics across low-, mid-, and high-ticket offerings.
  • Model cohort behavior, renewals, churn, refunds, chargebacks, and payment-plan defaults, and incorporate them into forecasts.
  • Set media-spend guardrails that protect liquidity during weak months without constraining strong months.
  • Lead investment-fund jurisdiction and structure selection with counsel and own the related trade-offs.
  • Establish fund administration, net asset value calculation, audit, fee and carried-interest mechanics, and subscription and redemption processes.
  • Build investor-reporting infrastructure to serve hundreds of investors on a reliable cadence.
  • Own group regulatory compliance, including applicable UAE regimes such as VARA and ADGM, FTC and advertising-claims compliance, securities considerations for investment products, and the regulatory perimeter for wealth and tax-planning tools.
  • Own rolling 13-week and 12-month cash forecasts at entity and group levels and maintain a group-wide liquidity view.
  • Optimize working capital, including processor reserves and holdbacks, refund provisions, and payment-plan receivables aging.
  • Own banking, merchant accounts, and payment processors, including redundancy, concentration risk, chargeback ratios, and processing costs.
  • Set treasury policy for digital-asset exposure, including custody, counterparty limits, stablecoin policy, valuation, and controls.
  • Own relationships with and budgets for external counsel, auditors, tax advisers, and transaction advisers across jurisdictions.
  • Own the corporate calendar for every entity, including filings, licenses, renewals, and tax deadlines.
  • Own commercial terms for major partnerships, vendors, affiliates, and talent agreements, with legal drafting handled by counsel.
  • Protect and improve the economics of the Decentralized Masters cash engine while executing the group's other priorities.
  • Stand up the regulated fund and its investor infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in at least two of publishing, education, software, wealth management, or fund management.
  • Experience structuring or operating an investment fund, including jurisdiction, administration, net asset value, fee and carried-interest mechanics, and investor reporting.
  • Private-equity-backed or private-equity operating experience, including understanding institutional buyers and what they discount.
  • Exposure to crypto and digital assets.
  • Subscription accounting and deferred-revenue expertise across high-ticket, payment-plan, and recurring products.
