About the job

Requirements
  • Experience in pharma, life sciences, healthcare services, or similarly regulated environments where third-party risk, including anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, sanctions, and reputational risk, is material.
  • Experience using third-party due diligence systems and structured workflows, such as RiskRate/NAVEX or comparable platforms.
  • Experience working with sanctions compliance expectations and controls, including screening, escalation, record-keeping, and programme components.
Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain Clinigen’s global third-party risk management framework and operating standards, including scope, risk tiers, minimum due diligence requirements, escalation thresholds, and evidence expectations.
  • Ensure consistent application of the third-party risk management framework across regions and business units, partnering with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Quality, and operations to align onboarding and approval processes.
  • Ensure the third-party risk management programme supports adequate-procedures expectations under global anti-bribery, sanctions, and financial-crime frameworks.
  • Support remediation actions, conditions of engagement, and contractual controls when third-party risks are identified, working with Legal and Procurement.
  • Run the third-party compliance workflow in NAVEX RiskRate, including initiation, duplicate checks, questionnaires, screening outputs, risk decisions, approvals, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain process discipline so third parties are not engaged before approval, and ensure stakeholders understand timelines and required inputs.
  • Drive continuous improvements to workflows, templates, and automation, and act as the business owner for enhancements needed to scale.
  • Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency in the third-party system of record to support reporting, audit readiness, and decision-making.
  • Apply independent judgment and appropriate challenge when business urgency conflicts with third-party risk requirements.
  • Oversee initial risk screening and due diligence, ensuring the depth of review is appropriate to the risk tier, including standard or enhanced due diligence when triggered by risk tiering.
  • Ensure third-party onboarding includes robust review of identity, ownership, location risk, services risk, and reputational indicators, and that findings are documented in the system of record.
  • Manage go/no-go escalations when red flags exist and ensure decisions are risk-informed, consistent, and defensible.
  • Ensure third-party sanctions screening is performed and maintained, including appropriate escalation of potential matches and alignment with Clinigen sanctions requirements.
  • Support trade and export sanctions controls, including appropriate routing and escalation for sanctioned jurisdictions and commodity or HS code issues where policy requires.
  • Maintain clear records and audit trails for sanctions decisions and escalations.
  • Own the ongoing screening and monitoring approach for third parties, including how alerts are reviewed, triaged, resolved, and evidenced throughout the third-party risk management lifecycle.
  • Ensure periodic refresh, re-screening, and re-due diligence occurs when required, such as following risk changes, contract renewals, market expansion, or scope changes.
  • Support offboarding and termination, and ensure controls prevent continued engagement with blocked or terminated third parties.
  • Produce third-party risk reporting for senior stakeholders, including pipeline volumes, aged cases, bottlenecks, high-risk concentrations, recurring red flags, and remediation themes.
  • Provide actionable intelligence to support better business decisions, including procurement interventions, process controls, and contract-gating improvements.
  • Provide targeted process enablement and practical guidance to business requestors and procurement and finance stakeholders on correct third-party onboarding and avoiding retrospective onboarding.
  • Maintain clear user guidance and practical communications about third-party onboarding expectations.
  • Ensure appropriate hand-offs to Quality for GxP vendor qualification steps and align compliance approval with QA requirements without duplicating QA’s technical assessments.
  • Work flexibly to support a scalable, defensible third-party risk management capability aligned with Clinigen’s Ethics & Compliance programme as duties evolve with business needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with risk-based adequate-procedures expectations, including due diligence and monitoring and review principles.

Clinigen secures world-first pharmaceutical approval for human milk-based fortifier in Japan

Clinigen has secured world-first pharmaceutical approval in Japan for Prolacta Bioscience's PreemieFort Enteral Solution, a human milk-based fortifier. The product is indicated for nutritional management of very low birth weight infants and neonates with weight gain failure. Whilst regulated as infant formula in the US and Europe, PreemieFort became the first human milk-derived product approved as a prescription drug in Japan. The approval was supported by data from the JASMINE Phase III clinical trial in very low birth weight infants. Clinigen served as exclusive licensee and marketing authorisation holder, working with regulators to establish a pharmaceutical pathway where none previously existed. The achievement is particularly significant given Japan's rigorous regulatory standards and status as a global leader in neonatal care.
