About the job
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
- Five years of relevant experience working in import/export documentation is required.
- Experience coordinating with freight forwarders and customs brokers is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is required.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.
- The candidate must be motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Oversee the import and export processes of CGR shipments.
- Manifest shipments in the Automated Commercial Environment interface.
- Maintain email notices and communications with customers and customs brokers pertaining to shipments.
- Ensure compliance with United States and international trade regulations, including customs regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all import/export transactions in accordance with record retention requirements.
- Monitor and track domestic and international shipments and proactively identify and resolve shipping delays or customs clearance issues.
- Handle incoming customer requests by email and phone with urgency and attention to detail.
- Prepare documentation related to dangerous goods.
- Assist with audits, inquiries, or reviews related to shipping and trade compliance.
- Coordinate cross-department efforts for proper invoicing.
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager to support business and operational needs.
