Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalency plus one year of patient care experience in a health care facility; or Certified Nursing Assistant status; or successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution or equivalent training; or EMT or Paramedic certification; or a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work from elevated areas and in confined or cramped spaces.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, twist at the waist, squat, and perform gross motor activities.
  • Ability to perform firm grasping, reach overhead, reach in all directions, and perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
  • Ability to use the lower extremities for balance and coordination.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted and lift or lower objects weighing 50 pounds from or to the floor and from or to 36 inches unassisted.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds from 36 inches to overhead and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision in one eye or both eyes, recognize objects close at hand or at a distance, match or discriminate between colors, and determine distance and depth perception.
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity with correction.
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Ability to maintain tactile and olfactory sensory functions.
  • Ability to be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative coverage at the clinic front desk.
  • Monitor the clinic appointment line and schedule appointments for clients from outside medical, hospital, and correctional systems.
  • Answer multiline telephones.
  • Take payments from clients for clinical services.
  • Complete client registration and documentation.
  • Schedule interpreters for clients.
  • Retrieve billing charges.
  • Provide constant and efficient operations of the physician medical office.
  • Perform scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections.
  • Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation, patient identification, patient check-in and check-out, charge posting, cash management, and patient appointment scheduling.
  • Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation, and referrals management.
