  • Strong analytical capability to interpret data, identify trends, diagnose issues, and translate insight into clear business action.
  • Experience with forecasting, replenishment, or supply chain planning systems; experience with Relex or similar planning solutions is valuable.
  • Understanding of availability, forecast accuracy, stock cover, waste, supplier service, and inventory optimisation measures.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, category, operations, supply chain, IT, and external partner teams.
  • Ability to shape new processes, challenge existing ways of working, and lead through ambiguity during implementation of a new planning capability.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex planning issues in a practical, simple, and business-focused way.
  • High attention to detail, strong numeracy, and competence in Excel, reporting tools, and data visualisation platforms.
  • A proactive continuous improvement mindset, with curiosity, resilience, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities

  • Balance availability with stock cover, waste, and working capital by maintaining effective replenishment parameters, reviewing inventory productivity, and challenging overstock or understock positions.
  • Lead the business use, governance, and continuous improvement of Relex forecasting and replenishment processes, ensuring system recommendations are reviewed, challenged, and translated into effective business action.

  • Shape and embed the planning operating model, including parameter governance, escalation routes, standard routines, playbooks, and performance reviews.
  • Identify recurring root causes and drive sustainable fixes that reduce manual workarounds, improve forecast quality, and increase confidence in automated replenishment.
  • Influence internal teams, suppliers, wholesalers, and distribution partners to resolve service issues, improve supply reliability, and align replenishment activity with business priorities.
  • Monitor Relex forecasts, replenishment recommendations, and exception alerts to identify risks and opportunities across the retail network.
  • Take timely action on demand, supply, and inventory exceptions, focusing effort on issues with the greatest business value.
  • Review and optimise replenishment parameters, including lead times, minimum order quantities, order frequency, safety stock, case sizes, seasonal profiles, and promotional uplift assumptions.
  • Analyse demand patterns, seasonality, promotions, range changes, local events, and site-level trading behaviour to improve forecast quality and replenishment outcomes.
  • Partner with Category Management to support launches, delists, range reviews, and promotional events with robust stock planning and clear execution routines.
  • Work with suppliers, wholesalers, and distribution partners to resolve service issues, improve order fulfilment, and mitigate product availability risks.
  • Identify root causes of recurring exceptions and recommend process, system, or data improvements that reduce manual intervention over time.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, planning playbooks, and governance routines for Relex-enabled forecasting and replenishment.
  • Provide performance insight on availability, forecast accuracy, service level, stock cover, waste, and exception volumes to support business decision-making.
  • Champion data-led, exception-based planning, helping teams move from legacy and manual ways of working to a more scalable planning model.

Airsys and Shell demo spray liquid cooling using 80% less fluid than immersion systems

Airsys and Shell Lubricants are demonstrating spray liquid cooling technology for data centers at the 2026 OCP Global Summit in San Jose, California, from 12-15 October. The system uses Shell's cooling fluid in Airsys's patented spray liquid cooling platform, designed for mid-density AI, data center, telecom, and edge environments. The technology delivers targeted heat removal from CPUs and GPUs whilst using up to 80% less dielectric fluid than immersion systems. The cassette-based architecture supports both retrofit and new-build environments with scalable deployment. A live demonstration will take place on 14 October at the OCP Liquid Immersion Community Outreach event, where attendees can view a running server being cooled through a transparent demonstration cassette.

Shell greenlights $730M LNG Canada Phase 2, doubling Kitimat capacity to 28 mtpa

Shell Canada Energy has approved the expansion of its LNG Canada facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, doubling production capacity from 14 million tonnes per annum to 28 mtpa. Shell holds a 40% stake in the joint venture, with partners including Malaysia's PETRONAS, China's PetroChina, Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, and South Korea's Korea Gas Corporation. The Phase 2 expansion will add two LNG processing trains, storage facilities, and expanded pipeline capacity through the 670-kilometre Coastal GasLink pipeline. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the early 2030s. At peak construction, the project will require up to 4,000 jobs in Kitimat and approximately 2,100 along the pipeline. LNG Canada and the governments of British Columbia and Canada estimate Phase 2 could generate more than $50 billion in government revenues over the project's life.

Shell and Star Bulk profit as refining shutdowns and longer shipping routes tighten global supply

Louis Navellier has identified two stocks poised to benefit from global supply constraints: Star Bulk Carriers Corp. and Shell plc. US diesel inventories hit their lowest September level since 1982. Shell's Q2 adjusted earnings climbed 131% year-over-year to $9.84 billion, marking its best quarterly profit in four years.
