About the job
- Doctoral preparation (PhD or DNP) is preferred for core didactic and nurse practitioner specialty courses; candidates currently completing a terminal degree may be considered if they have significant relevant clinical and academic experience.
- At least two years of current advanced clinical practice experience is required for nurse practitioner specialty didactic and clinical courses.
- Current, unrestricted registered nurse licensure in a compact state is required. Candidates teaching clinical or nurse practitioner specialty courses must hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania registered nurse/advanced practice registered nurse licensure and maintain applicable national board certification.
- At least two years of successful online teaching experience for graduate-level courses from an accredited university is required.
- Candidates must be able to communicate and take a lead role in multilevel problem-solving with students, university administration, and staff.
- Candidates must be able to engage students in active learning to meet required course and program outcomes.
- Experience with learning management systems is required.
- Teach online graduate nursing courses in the nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, in one or more of the listed course areas and specialties.
- Provide teaching grounded in understanding and practice-based experience in the relevant course area or specialty.
- Submit a curriculum vitae or résumé, cover letter, a list of three professional references, current unencumbered registered nurse license, advanced practice registered nurse license, national board certification as appropriate, and degree transcripts. Unofficial transcripts may be used for the interview; official transcripts are required before teaching.
- Experience with D2L/Brightspace is preferred.
