Requirements
- Hands-on experience with PowerPC, PowerQUIC, ARM, and x86 processors; packet-processing processors such as Cavium OCTEON, Broadcom XLR/XLP, and EZChip; U-Boot or boot loaders, firmware, Linux Board Support Packages, and software development kits.
- Knowledge of ATCA and IPMI is desirable.
- Working knowledge of EZChip network processors, including NP2, NP3, NP4, and NP5.
- Working experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 datapath protocols, especially data forwarding, including VLAN, L2F, Ethernet, VPN, RSTP, MSTP, IGMP, IPv4/IPv6, ICMP, OSPF, MPLS, OpenFlow, and software-defined networking.
- Knowledge of access control lists and load balancing is advantageous.
- Experience with Broadcom Ethernet switches and associated management software, such as Level 7 FASTPATH software, is advantageous.
- Excellent programming skills in C and assembly languages, with modeling and higher-level design tools desirable.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Exposure to Tier 1 customer support, including customer meetings and on-site or remote debugging on live networks.
- A Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Technology degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Telecom.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in the stated technical areas.
- Excellent programming, code-reviewing, testing, and debugging skills.
- Ability to engage effectively and productively with customers and technology partners.
- Ability to technically lead and mentor less-experienced software engineers.
