Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Information Technology, Financial Analysis, or related field.
Responsibilities
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and analysis of financial/agricultural data using Excel.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis for USDA Agricultural Marketing Service reporting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or Expert in Excel; Certified Data Analyst (CDA); Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP); Lean Six Sigma Certification; Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience in Information Technology, Data Science, Financial Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Management; strong background in financial analysis, data management, or agricultural economics relevant to the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Cotton & Tobacco Program.
  • Excel automation using Visual Basic for Applications to create, modify, and troubleshoot macros for automating data entry, reporting, and analysis processes.
  • Experience with Excel Power Query and Power Pivot for advanced data modeling and analysis.
  • Database integration and management experience with Excel (e.g., SQL or Access); ability to manage large datasets.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and reporting; proficiency in generating daily, monthly, and annual statistical reports related to cotton prices, user-fees, and revenue.
  • Version control and troubleshooting skills for complex spreadsheets across divisions.
  • Training and documentation skills for creating user manuals and delivering end-user training.
  • Financial management reporting experience, including budgeting templates, exhibit expense templates, and personnel salary and benefits tracking reports.
  • Familiarity with USDA reporting requirements related to cotton price statistics, revenue and collection reports, and salary/benefits tracking.
