Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • No previous job experience is required because this is an entry-level position.
  • A state-specific resident Life and Health license is required within six months of hire.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and responsiveness.
  • Be willing to learn employee benefits brokerage and consulting, insurance and healthcare products, and regulatory and compliance matters, including healthcare reform.
  • Be comfortable working with numbers.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher.
  • Be able to learn new skills quickly and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Be able to establish relationships and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Be able to multitask, remain composed under pressure, and switch between clients and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Have a basic understanding of insurance and healthcare.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain current client files and internal systems according to company protocols and data standards.
  • Support pre-renewal, renewal, post-renewal, and wellness activities.
  • Coordinate data gathering for analytical, compliance, and other reporting efforts.
  • Complete training and professional development to build industry and company knowledge.
  • Gather data from carriers and clients to fulfill client-service and team obligations.
  • Support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of exhibits, reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Complete assigned implementation tasks for client-related projects.
  • Coordinate activities and complete regulatory tasks, including Form 5500 filings, Affordable Care Act requirements, and other notices and disclosures.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Track deliverables and update the Annual Action Plan to ensure materials are accurate and timely.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations when appropriate.
  • Prepare and review employee education and communication materials, including benefit guides, during periods such as Open Enrollment.
  • Assist with coordinating Open Enrollment activities, including conducting meetings.
  • Maintain internal systems, including BenefitPoint and Oracle, and client files according to data standards and filing requirements.
  • Follow up to help resolve client service issues, claims inquiries, and administrative concerns.
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of clients and the team.
