Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Education, School Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field, with at least two years of related experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology, including communication, data collection, and decision-making software such as Office 365 Suite.

Responsibilities
  • Provide peer guidance, share knowledge and resources, and support day-to-day decision-making for the Career Development team to help deliver programs and services aligned with departmental objectives and student success goals.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with the Career Development team to advance student engagement and strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advance College efforts to embed career pathways, career exploration, financial wellness, and economic mobility outcomes into the student journey.
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive vision for career development and financial literacy across the student lifecycle.
  • Create and ensure access to inclusive, engaging opportunities for students to expand professional networks and career competencies.
  • Coordinate campus-wide support for undecided students' career exploration and education return on investment through collaboration with recruitment, enrollment, advising, and program directors.
  • Facilitate College-wide training and engagement on career development topics, initiatives, and activities to promote equitable practices across divisions.
  • Partner with Career Services, Academic Advising, Career Planning, and Recruitment teams to coordinate and support training and development programs for team members engaged throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to advance durable employability skills aligned with the Career Readiness Pathway and College Core Abilities.
  • Ensure students have meaningful career planning opportunities throughout their academic journey, with a focus on pre-core and transfer students.
  • Engage pre-core students early to strengthen career awareness, clarify program alignment, and increase participation in academic and career planning.
  • Maintain career services, including career-readiness milestones, ongoing training, and interview preparation, to support career-ready graduates.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with academic programs, businesses, and industry stakeholders to create, expand, and evaluate internships aligned with career pathways, workforce needs, and student goals; support student career growth through employer engagement, advisory committee participation, and collaboration with organizations offering internships.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build an alumni network for internship engagement, promote workforce readiness, and help students transition into the workforce.
  • Establish a vision for internship support and resources through the Career Services team to foster inclusive access to internship opportunities.
  • Develop and strengthen workforce partnerships to enhance experiential learning, improve employment outcomes, and support employer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and support career services technology platforms to enhance student engagement and program delivery.
  • Train and support students and employees in using technology and resources for career programs and services, aligned with institutional goals, student engagement strategies, and workforce readiness outcomes.
  • Chair the College Career Development work group.
  • Support Institutional Research in collecting and analyzing student job-placement data.
  • Research and monitor national, state, and local hiring practices, employment trends, and related issues, including employment outcomes, advancement opportunities, and economic mobility awareness.
  • Develop, present, and facilitate career development programming for diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to develop and execute communication strategies promoting career development and financial literacy across multiple platforms.
  • Represent Career Services at campus programs, events, classroom presentations, and other on- and off-campus opportunities for CVTC students and alumni.
  • Provide strategic direction for developing, implementing, and continually improving student financial-literacy initiatives and programming.
  • Coordinate and facilitate financial-literacy programs, resources, workshops, and educational experiences with campus and community partners.
  • Identify emerging student financial needs and opportunities using data, student feedback, and institutional priorities to strengthen financial-literacy programming.
  • Support consideration of cost awareness and return on investment in student pathway decisions.
  • Support monitoring of allocated student activity-fee and grant budgets and contribute to responsible stewardship of student-generated funds.
  • Assess student satisfaction and Core Ability and Student Journey learning outcomes regularly to close student equity gaps and foster student success through career development and financial-literacy programming.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction with career development and financial-literacy programming.
  • Assist with first-year experience activities and commencement planning as required.
  • Serve on College and WTCS committees and initiatives as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience in career development, including administering career planning and career placement.
  • Experience in financial-literacy education.
  • Post-secondary experience.
