  • Working towards B.S., M.S, or M.S.E. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • A targeted graduation date between December 2023 and Spring/Summer 2024
  • Experience designing secure data APIs that make it easy to create, secure, and retrieve data and build applications
  • Desire to have a high impact at a fast-moving startup as a key contributor on a new project and fast-growing team
  • Strong passion for learning and growth and are open to new ideas, new technologies, strong devops practices, and continuous feedback
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High self-motivation and love of self-directed learning
Responsibilities
  • Gecko's software teams come into the picture after our robots and operators collect data in the field. The petabytes of data our robots collect are only valuable and useful if we as humans (and our software tools) are able to understand the story the inspections are telling. The Software Organization's work bridges multiple data layers and functions, ultimately converging in our transformative Cantilever software that directly impacts critical maintenance and repair decision making worldwide
  • In our recently opened Boston Habitat, we have a variety of teams that you may be able to add value to! Future Geckos that join our software teams are placed based on their strengths, interests, and needs of our business. This process happens as your start date arrives!
  • Here are some brief descriptions of possible teams you can make an impact on

About the company

Gecko Robotics builds inspection robots and software for organizations that maintain power plants, factories, ships and other critical infrastructure. Its machines collect detailed measurements of physical condition, helping customers find hidden defects and decide where maintenance is needed. Cantilever, its software platform, brings robotic inspection results and facility records together so teams can track an asset's health throughout its life. Customers pay for robotic inspections and software-based asset analysis, with Gecko's engineers working alongside site teams on maintenance and production workflows. Gecko Robotics was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

What believers are saying

  • Military sales access widens: Gecko's March 2026 Navy contract allows customers across all services to order.
  • Manufacturing distribution broadens: Gecko's January 2026 Trident partnership targets deployments across 20 fabrication facilities.
  • Cross-functional work broadens scope: Gecko's careers page asks staff to own results beyond role and title.

What critics are saying

  • Navy spending is not assured sales: Gecko's March 2026 award has a $71 million ceiling.
  • The productivity case remains a target: Gecko's January 2026 Trident announcement targets 40% throughput improvement.
  • Gecko expects pressure tolerance: its careers page describes thin error margins and customers unable to wait.

What makes Gecko Robotics unique

  • Gecko's aerial inspections build layered asset records: the service combines at least nine spatial data layers.
  • Cantilever brings inspection decisions into budgets: Gecko's platform includes dynamic budgeting for capital allocation.
  • Komodo separates AI from hardware control: Gecko says an independent OpenShell layer enforces permissions on its Navy-deployed robot.

Gecko Robotics, Anduril to accelerate American shipbuilding with robotics, AI.

Gecko Robotics, Anduril to accelerate American shipbuilding with robotics, AI. October 8, 2026 (C) Gecko Robotics Gecko Robotics announced a partnership with Anduril Industries to help accelerate American shipbuilding using advanced robotics, AI-powered software, and automated quality assurance. The partnership will support Anduril's Arsenal-2, a new software-defined shipyard in Baltimore County, Maryland, announced as part of the company's $3.7 billion investment to expand production for the Virginia-class submarine program. Gecko's technology will be deployed at Anduril's new 160,000-square-foot protofactory in Orange County, California, where key submarine components will be manufactured. Working with other customers across the defense industrial base, Gecko's technology has already reduced inspection timelines for forged components by up to 90%, improving cost and schedule performance for the U.S. Navy. By embedding inspection expertise directly into software and robotics, Gecko enables workers with no prior NDT experience to become productive in as little as an hour of training, allowing manufacturers to expand qualified inspection capacity without relying solely on scarce specialist labor. As demand for submarines and other naval systems continues to rise, expanding the available workforce will be just as important as expanding production facilities. The partnership reflects a broader transformation underway across the defense industrial base. As Anduril develops software-defined production systems through ArsenalOS, Gecko provides real-time intelligence and data on physical assets that are essential for military grade manufacturing operations. Every assessment of new build components contributes to a continuously evolving digital thread that follows critical components from manufacturing through decades of operational service. That digital thread creates more than quality records. This approach also streamlines maintenance planning and reduces unplanned maintenance costs and repairs, ensuring optimal performance over the lifetime of the fleet. This lack of data and insight plagues ships around the world with unexpected downtime.

Gecko Robotics partners with Nvidia to add safety guardrails for AI in critical infrastructure

Gecko Robotics has partnered with Nvidia to develop safety protocols for AI-powered robots operating in critical infrastructure and military applications. The collaboration focuses on the Open Agent Safety Platform, which aims to keep humans in control whilst enabling AI agents to gather data and direct robotic actions. Gecko Robotics CEO Jake Loosararian emphasised the importance of establishing proper safeguards as AI systems increasingly interact with physical infrastructure. The company describes itself as one of the largest deployers of robotics in real-world settings, with operations affecting critical infrastructure including energy facilities and military assets. The partnership seeks to enable safe deployment of agentic AI tools whilst maintaining human oversight, particularly in high-stakes environments where AI errors could cause significant physical damage or security risks.

Epicor names Vaibhav Vohra as new CEO, succeeding Steve Murphy.

Epicor names Vaibhav Vohra as new CEO, succeeding Steve Murphy. 2 minutes read Epicor has named Vaibhav Vohra as its next Chief Executive Officer, with the leadership change set to take effect on October 1, 2026. Vohra will succeed Steve Murphy, who will step down as CEO at the end of Epicor's fiscal year on September 30. Murphy will remain on the company's Board of Directors. The appointment follows a succession process led by Epicor's Board that began with Vohra's appointment as President in October 2024. The company said Murphy and Vohra will work together through the transition to maintain continuity for customers, employees and partners. "Vaibhav is a proven leader with deep experience in enterprise software, and I am confident he is the right person to lead Epicor into its next chapter," said Jeff Hawn, Chair of Epicor's Board of Directors. "On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Steve for his outstanding leadership at Epicor and the strong foundation he leaves in place." Vohra joined Epicor in 2021 as Chief Product Officer and subsequently moved into broader leadership roles. He currently serves as President and Chief Product and Technology Officer, overseeing product strategy, development, management and design. His tenure has also included work on Epicor's cloud, AI and data supply chain strategy. Before joining Epicor, Vohra held product leadership positions at Gecko Robotics and executive product roles at SAP, where he worked on building and scaling technology businesses. "I am honored to lead Epicor as we enter a new era of transformation across enterprise software. Over the past five years, I've seen firsthand the people, customers, and partners that make this company special. Our focus remains on helping our customers grow and succeed in an increasingly dynamic world," said Vaibhav Vohra. "I want to thank Steve for his exceptional leadership and for all he has done to position Epicor for continued success." During Murphy's tenure, Epicor expanded its SaaS-based enterprise resource planning business, accelerated its shift towards a cloud-first model and invested in product development and strategic acquisitions. The company also surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue. "It has been a privilege to serve Epicor and the talented team behind it," said Steve Murphy. "We've sharpened Epicor's focus on the customers and industries we serve, and I'm proud of what this team has accomplished. With the company performing well and a clear strategy in place, this is the right time for a change. Vaibhav has been instrumental in shaping our product and technology direction, and he is the right leader for what comes next."
