Requirements
- Must hold a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse license; LVN/LPN is preferred.
- Must have Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must successfully complete all company-specified training programs.
- Must have effective communication skills commensurate with professional standards.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with wellness team members, leadership, residents, family members, vendor partners, referral sources, and outside contacts.
- Must maintain a neat, clean appearance in accordance with the dress code and ensure department team members adhere to dress code and safety standards.
- Must demonstrate high service delivery, address service failures, and prioritize customer needs.
- Must be able to make independent decisions.
- Must be able to present information clearly, interpret complex information, communicate with residents, family members, and customers, and listen effectively.
- Must communicate in a warm and helpful manner while building credibility and rapport.
- Must work cooperatively with others to achieve goals and objectives.
- Must act tactfully, maintain confidences, foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate coworker behavior, give proper credit, and handle situations honestly.
- Must remain open to new information, adapt opinions when appropriate, perform varied tasks, shift focus as demands change, manage transitions between tasks, and adapt to varying customer needs.
- Must be able to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of decision-making through servant leadership.
- Serve as the charge nurse in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health and Wellness.
- Contribute to medication management, including orders, administration, storage, and documentation, in accordance with state regulations, guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure resident rooms and common areas are clean and safe.
- Ensure care partners and medication assistants understand residents’ individual conditions and are trained to provide services effectively, professionally, and sensitively.
- Assist residents with self-medication or medication administration.
- Provide daily recommendations and documentation within the scope of a limited nursing license, if applicable.
- Implement plans of care recommended by the Resident Wellness Director.
- Implement change-in-condition plans.
- Document all care provided to residents accurately and promptly.
- Complete resident charting in the electronic health record and assist with scheduled assessments or assessments prompted by a change in condition.
- Complete accident and incident reports as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, and responsible parties.
- Prepare for and manage emergencies, including disasters and fires.
- Ensure adequate, appropriately trained care partners and medication assistants are available for each shift as scheduled, within company and state guidelines.

- Two years of experience in a senior living environment is preferred.
