About the job
- A Computer Science degree from an accredited university.
- Experience with Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with SQL.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Ability to learn new frameworks, languages, paradigms, and techniques quickly and with little direction.
- Functional programming experience in any language.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals and a firm understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of relational database development and data warehousing.
- Experience with object-oriented design, with a focus on type systems and static typing, multiple inheritance, and Gang of Four design patterns.
- Service-oriented architecture experience creating web services and application programming interfaces.
- Experience with test-driven design and automated testing techniques.
- Ability to take a passionate stand on technology and communicate across a large organization.
- Ability to work independently in the United States, as sponsorship is unavailable.
- Provide development team leadership.
- Passion for open-source technologies, with a history of contributions.
- Scala experience.
- Experience with actor-based concurrency systems such as Akka, Scalaz, or Quasar.
- Experience with Apache Spark and related technologies, including Hive, HDFS, Hadoop, YARN, and Mesos.
- DevOps expertise with Git, Jenkins, Maven, SBT, Eclipse, JIRA, or OpsCode Chef.
- CloudOps familiarity with infrastructure as a service such as AWS, platform as a service, Docker, Vagrant, infrastructure as code, and continuous deployment.
- Experience using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube and FindBugs.
- Experience with enterprise middleware technologies such as ESB, BPEL, and OData.
- Experience with binary serialization protocols and Hadoop SerDe, including Apache Avro, Parquet, ORC, Protocol Buffers, or Kryo.
- Healthcare data experience.
