Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 years of Design Management and/or Design experience performing the described civil engineering tasks.
  • Graduation from an accredited engineering college curriculum with a minimum four-year degree.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of broad-based engineering principles and the discipline being hired.
  • Understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-disciplined engineering project design.
Responsibilities
  • Perform site layout and grading design.
  • Design water and sanitary sewer systems.
  • Perform stormwater calculations and design.
  • Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, create and manage schedules, and track and brief budget execution in conformance with project and customer requirements.
  • Create project technical dashboard reports using Microsoft Power BI, Project, Excel, and related Microsoft software.
  • Provide technical reviews and recommendations to minimize project delays within predetermined timeframes.
  • Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and federal laws and regulations, and provide technical recommendations verbally and in writing.
  • Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate with the Government client, NAVFAC team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, make recommendations based on project requirements, coordinate workflow processes, schedule and coordinate Plans of Action and Milestones, communicate findings to project personnel, and provide written meeting minutes.
  • Review technical reports, Requests for Information, designs, design changes, project deliverables, submittals, and contractor cost proposals for compliance with customer and Request for Proposal requirements.
  • Provide technical support for reviewing commissioning plans, design and construction submittals, and field inspections.
  • Provide technical support for construction field activities.
  • Provide weekly accomplishment summaries and prepared monthly status reports.
  • Provide weekly reports documenting technical engineering support and quality assurance for assigned projects, including status, issues, costs, schedule, findings, observations, recommendations, and collected data.
  • Prepare reports, Requests for Proposals, and scopes of work in the required format with applicable attachments, and participate in briefings and conferences.
  • Prepare and deliver project briefs with supporting documentation to project team members, base personnel, and senior management.
  • Ensure timely submission of submittals, reviews, and recommendations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A current U.S. Professional Engineering license in the civil discipline.
