About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Three to five years of hands-on DevOps, build and release, or site reliability experience, including at least two years in Azure.
  • Experience building continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines with tools such as GitLab CI, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions, including Git branching and merge request workflows.
  • Strong Terraform skills and scripting ability in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Working knowledge of Azure services used in application delivery: App Services, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Managed Identity, and Azure Front Door.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying .NET applications through automated pipelines.
  • Experience supporting production systems, including observability tooling, incident response, and on-call work.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices, including secrets management, least-privilege access, identity configuration, and securing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently, write clear documentation for pipelines and runbooks, and share knowledge across teams.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain current GitLab CI pipelines and lead their migration to GitHub Actions, integrated with Octopus Deploy for releases, covering build, test, artifact publishing, and database deployments.
  • Plan, analyze, and migrate repositories, metadata, and version history from legacy platforms such as GitLab and Octopus into GitHub Enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform for per-client environments and reusable modules, with every change reviewed through merge requests and applied through the pipeline.
  • Deploy and operate applications on Azure App Services and Azure Container Apps, and automate build and deployment paths that move legacy virtual-machine-hosted workloads onto them.
  • Build and maintain container workflows, including tagging, package registry management, and promotion across environments.
  • Implement and tune monitoring, logging, and alerting in Datadog and Azure so deployment failures and performance regressions surface quickly.
  • Participate in incident response and the on-call rotation, run blameless post-incident reviews, and automate fixes for recurring issues.
  • Build security into the delivery pipeline, including secrets handling, static application security testing, software composition analysis, Managed Identity and Service Principal configuration, least-privilege access, and dependency scanning, in partnership with security and compliance teams.
  • Improve developer experience and delivery performance by standardizing pipeline templates, shortening build times, and tracking deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to restore service.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience migrating .NET workloads from IIS on Windows virtual machines to Azure platform-as-a-service services such as App Services or Container Apps.
  • Experience with Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, Network Security Groups, Application Gateway, and traffic routing and failover patterns.
  • Exposure to Azure integration services such as Service Bus, Data Factory, or Logic Apps.
  • Experience delivering in regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST, including change control, audit trails, and access reviews.
  • Microsoft Azure certification, ideally AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) or AZ-104 (Azure Administrator).
