Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer such as a smartphone or iPad are required.
  • A valid driver's license held for at least 12 months is required, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required is required.
Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start up HVAC systems using knowledge of air conditioning theory, welding, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts.
  • Plan, analyze, and timely complete assigned projects and activities.
  • Use hand tools and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-up activities as needed or requested by customers.
  • Prepare for on-site installation by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, coordinating on-site work, and coordinating with other trades as necessary.
  • Maintain assigned company equipment and document related activities.
  • Provide training and follow-up training at customer sites.
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete paperwork for each job, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintain files.
  • Submit all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects.
  • Serve as the direct customer contact and service products and equipment on assigned projects; identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain vehicles by keeping service records, scheduling and documenting completed repairs, and performing maintenance service.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for signs of wear and maintain them.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording their use, wear, and condition.
  • Travel regularly, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays, while maintaining flexibility to meet customer needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two to five years of experience in commercial HVAC installation is preferred.
  • Technical school or formal training is preferred.
  • Welding and pipefitting experience is preferred.
  • State contractor licenses, such as HVAC journeyman, boiler operator, or gas installer licenses, are a plus.
