Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or five years’ experience in intellectual/developmental disabilities or related supervisory/management experience in a residential setting.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Promote the independence and self-determination of individuals using person-centered practices focused on their strengths, preferences, and needs.
  • Manage individuals’ holistic healthcare, nutrition, and wellness, including tracking appointments and communicating with the CMS, nurse, relevant doctors, and managers.
  • Coordinate recreation and other community activities that promote individuals’ participation and independence.
  • Encourage individuals’ independence and relationship building within the community and with natural supports.
  • Manage and direct the overall flow of the shift, including assigning staff to appropriate individual ratios.
  • Supervise direct support professionals and shift supervisors while promoting learning and development through continual coaching and mentoring.
  • Model the behaviors necessary to support individuals’ independence and aspirational desires.
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are observed, including maintaining a stimulating and comfortable physical environment.
  • Facilitate individuals’ participation in recreational activities and medical appointments by coordinating transportation activities for the residence.
  • Manage individuals’ personal property and their ability to access personal items.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies within mandatory time frames.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Services for the Underserved and perform additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Program Director or designee.
Desired Qualifications
  • AMAP certification, SCIP-R certification, and CPR and First Aid are needed but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Behavior Technician training.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Windows.
