New AI Updates in ModMed EMR Software.

New AI Updates in ModMed EMR Software. AI integrations in EHR software are making meaningful impacts in healthcare recently. It is revolutionizing the way physicians document, review data, and do daily tasks. AI is not replacing clinicians but helping them by alleviating administrative burden and optimizing processes. ModMed EMR software stands out by introducing AI features that work for different medical specialties like dermatology, urology, and ophthalmology. These features are a great addition to the ModMed platform, supporting modern healthcare delivery. AI in ModMed EMR Software that is built for Specialty Workflows. The best part about ModMed electronic medical records software is that its platform is designed to meet the unique requirements of various medical specialties. So its newer AI functionalities also hold up to the same principle. The system can organize clinical data into specialty-focused documentation. This helps clinicians focus on their patients and save hours of work every day. Furthermore, the ModMed Scribe 2.0 is designed to listen and document automatically. The latest AI innovation analyzes patient and provider conversations and suggests clinical actions. For example, if a patient describes a certain symptom, the AI may suggest a prescription for that. It can even recommend lab orders if follow-up testing is required. Quick access to patient data with ModMed EHR software. Retrieving the most relevant patient information can take a lot of time among years of notes, lab results, and referrals. To make things easier, ModMed EMR software has released AI capabilities that can surface the information needed quickly. The technology does this by organizing patient data so it can be reviewed easily. This relieves specialists from the hassle of going through multiple patient records and empowers users to locate the patient data swiftly. RCM AI Platform Powered by ModMed EMR Software. The ModMed Revenue cycle management platform is designed for specialty healthcare. The RCM software leverages AI agents that work with billing teams. This smart assistance helps billers enhance reimbursements, reduce denial rates, and improve the overall cash flow stream. The AI agents in the revenue cycle management software can automate repetitive billing processes and even guide billers with difficult payer needs. The ModMed RCM AI platform has learned from millions of real insurance claims that have been submitted. This includes successful claims and even denied ones. By studying what worked and not, AI is trained to recognize patterns and can help practices avoid billing mistakes and save costs. The revenue cycle management software is available for specialties such as allergy, dermatology, ENT, OBGYN, ophthalmology, pain management, plastic surgery, podiatry, and urology. Always taking a proactive approach, ModMed EMR software has carved out a niche when it comes to a platform built for the future. It has utilized the power of AI to give practical solutions to everyday problems related to clinical, administrative, and billing issues. In 2026, these updates will be critical for specialty practices that want to deliver modern care without losing the human touch.

ModMed launches agentic RCM AI platform to help specialty practices cut denials and collection costs

ModMed has announced the ModMed RCM AI Platform, an agentic AI system designed to help specialty medical practices improve financial performance through revenue cycle management. The platform will deploy AI agents to work alongside billing teams to optimise reimbursements, reduce denials, accelerate claim resolution, and lower collection costs. The platform combines AI agents, human expertise, and specialty-specific revenue cycle intelligence. Unlike disconnected solutions focusing on isolated tasks, it works across the entire revenue lifecycle. According to a recent MGMA poll, 48% of medical group leaders cite denials and appeals as their biggest revenue leak. Healthcare systems spend an estimated $19.7 billion annually appealing denials. The platform is part of ModMed's AI-Powered Practice strategy, aiming to address what the company calls the "RCM Tax" — administrative inefficiencies and denied claims that reduce cash flow and increase operating costs.

ModMed announces agentic RCM AI Platform to help specialty medical practices Slash the RCM Tax(TM).

ModMed announces agentic RCM AI Platform to help specialty medical practices Slash the RCM Tax(TM). New agentic AI platform designed to help specialty medical practices optimize financial performance by reducing denials, accelerating reimbursement, and lowering the cost to collect. Boca Raton, Fla. - August 4, 2026 - ModMed, a leading provider of AI-powered software and services for specialty medical practices, today announced the ModMed(R) RCM AI Platform, a new agentic AI platform for revenue cycle management (RCM) designed to optimize practice financial performance. Purpose-built for specialty healthcare, the platform will deploy intelligent AI agents to work alongside billing teams and help them optimize reimbursements, reduce denials, accelerate claim resolution, and lower the cost of collecting receivables - allowing practices to better capture the revenue they have earned and improve operational efficiency. The ModMed RCM AI Platform will combine specialized AI agents, human expertise, and decades of specialty-specific revenue cycle intelligence into a single, integrated platform. Unlike disconnected point solutions that focus on isolated billing tasks or managing denials after they occur, the ModMed RCM AI Platform is designed to work across the entire revenue lifecycle to help practices optimize financial performance. "The ModMed RCM AI Platform is a cornerstone of our AI-Powered Practice(TM) strategy," said Joe Harpaz, co-CEO of ModMed. "The RCM AI Platform represents a fundamental shift in how specialty practices manage financial performance. By combining specialized AI agents with ModMed's deep specialty expertise and human oversight, we'll help practices optimize reimbursements, improve operational efficiency, and give practices greater visibility and control across the revenue cycle." It's Time to Slash the RCM Tax. The RCM Tax(TM) is the hidden financial burden that quietly erodes the performance of specialty medical practices every day. Administrative inefficiencies, denied claims, delayed payments, payer complexity, and unnecessary manual work create friction across the revenue cycle, reducing cash flow, increasing operating costs, and preventing practices from collecting the revenue they have earned. According to a recent MGMA poll, 48% of medical group leaders say denials and appeals are their biggest revenue leak[1]. Additionally, healthcare systems spend an estimated $19.7 billion annually appealing denials[2]. It's clear that the status quo is no longer sustainable, and healthcare organizations are looking for ways to Slash the RCM Tax. The ModMed RCM AI Platform leverages years of specialty-specific clinical and financial workflows, payer knowledge, historical claims data, and revenue cycle expertise that will provide contextual guidance at every stage of the billing process. Because the platform is integrated directly into ModMed's clinical, practice management, and revenue cycle solutions, the RCM AI Platform will help identify reimbursement risks earlier in the patient journey before those risks become denied claims, delayed payments, or unnecessary administrative work. As payer policies and reimbursement requirements continue to evolve, the platform will continuously adapt recommendations using the latest payer intelligence and practice-specific data. A Human-in-the-Loop architecture will keep revenue cycle teams in control, helping to maintain safe and responsible AI. Intelligent AI agents help prioritize work, automate repetitive tasks, surface relevant payer guidance, and recommend next-best actions. This approach will enable experienced staff to focus on higher-value work, while helping newer team members become productive faster by capturing and applying institutional knowledge built from years of specialty-specific revenue cycle expertise. Bringing agentic AI to specialty RCM. As payer requirements become increasingly complex and staffing challenges persist, many revenue cycle teams simply lack the capacity to pursue every claim with the same level of attention. Lower-dollar claims, time-intensive appeals, and repetitive follow-up activities are often delayed or deprioritized as staff focus on the most urgent work. The AI agents inside the ModMed RCM AI Platform will help eliminate that tradeoff by automating repetitive tasks, prioritizing the highest-impact activities, and guiding staff through complex payer requirements. The intelligence behind the ModMed RCM AI Platform is powered by one of the healthcare industry's richest specialty-specific revenue cycle datasets. Built on decades of specialty expertise, the platform draws upon hundreds of millions of de-identified historical claims - including millions of denied claims - billions of dollars in annual transactions, payer-specific intelligence, and years of real-world revenue cycle outcomes that can deliver contextual guidance, intelligent automation, and improved visibility across the billing lifecycle. Preliminary internal analysis indicates the ModMed RCM AI Platform could help reduce manual accounts receivable follow-up activities by up to 57%. Platform includes five integrated AI capabilities. The ModMed RCM AI platform will bring together five integrated AI capabilities designed to help practices prevent revenue leakage, accelerate reimbursement, improve operational efficiency, and optimize financial performance: * AI RCM Agents - automating time-consuming revenue cycle activities, including generating appeal packages, suggesting intelligent claim edits, validating claims, executing resubmissions, researching payer requirements, navigating payer portals, and completing repetitive administrative tasks. * AI Workflow Manager - serving as an intelligent command center for human and AI-powered revenue cycle work, providing operational dashboards, intelligent claim prioritization and routing, personalized work queues, workflow automation, and end-to-end performance tracking. * AI Billing Assistant - giving billing professionals conversational, contextual guidance throughout the billing lifecycle by analyzing submission risk, summarizing claim history, surfacing payer requirements, recommending next-best actions, and embedding supporting documentation directly into workflows. * AI RCM Advisor - transforming complex revenue cycle data into actionable financial and operational insights, enabling practice leaders to monitor performance, identify trends and anomalies, understand underlying drivers, generate reports, and uncover opportunities to improve reimbursement, cash flow, and overall financial performance. * Specialty Intelligence Engine - powering these AI capabilities and interactions across the platform by combining specialty expertise, payer policies, coding guidance, customer-specific workflows, de-identified historical claims, denial patterns, and real-world revenue cycle outcomes into contextual recommendations. RCM AI Platform availability. The ModMed RCM AI Platform will support two delivery models designed to meet the needs of specialty practices of every size. Larger practices, enterprise organizations, and MSOs can deploy the platform to power their own internal revenue cycle operations. Practices that choose ModMed RCM Services can benefit from the same AI platform as part of a fully managed revenue cycle solution. Portions of the ModMed RCM AI Platform are already deployed within ModMed RCM Services, where its AI capabilities are helping augment revenue cycle operations for managed services customers. A limited early adopter program for self-managed customers is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with broader customer availability beginning in 2027. The platform will be showcased publicly at MOMENTUM, ModMed's annual customer conference in Orlando from October 16-18, 2026. Additional AI capabilities will continue to be introduced as part of ModMed's broader AI-Powered Practice(TM) strategy. About modmed. At ModMed, Modmed empower medical practices to grow and scale by delivering better patient experiences with cloud, data and AI technologies. Through the AI-Powered Practice(TM), Modmed help specialty medical providers simplify, automate and streamline clinical workflows and drive practice efficiency.
