Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent plus three to five years of previous management experience in retail or a similar service-oriented business or environment, including military experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, understand computerized time and attendance systems, and use point-of-sale systems.
  • Must have a personal vehicle to use when making cash deposits from the store.
  • Must be willing to work flexible days and hours to meet the needs of a seven-day-per-week business.
  • Proven ability to inspire, coach, train, and develop store team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive for results.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, coach, and train all direct reports in the business unit.
  • Create an atmosphere of ongoing exceptional customer service for internal and external customers, including associates, peers, other departments, donors, shoppers, and community partners.
  • Manage inventory levels of all merchandise lines and oversee the quality of merchandise delivered to the sales floor to optimize revenue generation.
  • Monitor and ensure a smooth and effective flow of donations while adhering to published standards, safety requirements, security requirements, and state laws.
  • Perform requested bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting requirements on a timely basis, including monitoring the time and attendance system and related policies and procedures, surveys, production reports, and sales reports.
  • Maintain effective email, phone, and face-to-face communication.
  • Understand competition in the trading area and react to competitive situations.
  • Maintain all presentation and merchandising standards on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees, monitor safety and security procedures, and ensure safety procedures are enforced on an ongoing basis.
  • Comply with and enforce company policies, standards, and values.
  • Participate in special projects and attend meetings.
  • Supervise retail and production staff, including assistant managers, team leads, and associates.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with the disabled and disadvantaged.
  • Fluency in a language other than English.
