Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment, or an associate degree in a relevant discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience overseeing 20 or more people.
  • Working knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.
  • Proficient knowledge of production processes, general line maintenance, and staffing.
  • Proficient oral and written English language knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated success building effective teams, leading by engaging and motivating a team, and influencing an organization.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of poultry deboning and slaughter processing to ensure procedures are followed, productivity is maximized cost-effectively, and customer specifications are maintained.
  • Direct a team through subordinate supervisors to ensure compliance with food safety programs and company policies.
  • Oversee and assist Production Supervisors with supervising and training employees while supporting quality and productivity performance.
  • Manage the production process and employee performance, providing positive or corrective feedback.
  • Promote safety throughout the assigned work area.
  • Review and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Supervise, coach, and train employees, providing professional development through ongoing feedback about strengths and improvement areas.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to maintain a food-safe and sanitary environment meeting specifications and United States Department of Agriculture requirements.
  • Establish and adjust procedures to meet production schedules, production efficiencies, and budget objectives.
  • Maximize yields and throughput while minimizing downtime, accidents, and turnover through encouragement and team building.
  • Plan and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points programs, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Optimize profit and reduce costs through continuous improvement activities, employee involvement, and positive leadership.
  • Supervise 1–10 salaried Production Supervisors and provide indirect supervision to more than 100 hourly production employees.
