Requirements
  • The candidate must be board certified or board eligible.
  • The candidate must have successfully completed an accredited four-year psychiatry residency training program.
  • The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
  • The candidate should be willing to learn the indications, contraindications, and protocols for psychiatric interventions including transcranial magnetic stimulation, Spravato, ketamine, and intensive outpatient services.
  • The candidate must have diagnostic skills and the ability to develop effective treatment plans integrating biological, psychological, social, and existential variables.
  • The candidate must be proficient in conducting supportive therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches and exercise good judgment when referring appropriate patients to psychotherapy specialists.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with patients, their families, support systems, and referring or collaborating providers within the community.
  • The candidate must have interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • The candidate must have attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and complete records.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Diagnose and treat mental illnesses and disorders, including major depression, bipolar illnesses, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, and comorbid substance misuse.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans; regularly assess and document patient progress toward goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Deliver and supervise the effects of interventional treatments, including intravenous ketamine and transcranial magnetic stimulation, and refer patients requiring intensive psychotherapy to intensive outpatient programming as indicated.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor effectiveness, side effects, and patient preferences to develop an appropriate pharmacological regimen.
  • Provide supportive therapy to individuals, couples, families, or groups and refer patients to the provider network for specialized psychotherapies such as dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and prolonged exposure therapy.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and therapists to coordinate comprehensive patient care and optimize treatment effectiveness.
  • Order medical workups, including laboratory assessments, diagnostic tests, and specialty consultations, to integrate physical and mental healthcare.
  • Supervise Advanced Practice Providers, with protected schedule time for teaching and supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
