- CWI certification is required.
- Indirect supervision is expected.
- Be fully competent in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or functional area.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standards.
- Devise new solutions to problems encountered.
- Independently perform most assignments with instruction.
- Receive guidance for unusual or complex problems and obtain supervisor approval for changes in standards.
- A college or university graduate, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
- Have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
- Work outside and inside, including dusty, noisy, hazardous, high, tight, confined, and other adverse locations, and in all types of weather.
- Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
- Lift and carry 36 to 50 pounds occasionally, apply 22 to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or apply greater than negligible up to 11 to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Perform hands-on quality control while fabricating and assembling duct or fittings.
- Assess corporate conformance to the Quality Management System (QMS), AISC certification, and ASME certification.
- Assist with inspection and testing services provided by RK.
- Monitor activities relating to client expectations of the company.
- Report QMS progress, activities, and observations to the Quality Manager.
- Review plans to ensure they meet building codes, local ordinances, and zoning regulations.
- Monitor construction sites and fabrication facilities to ensure overall compliance.
- Use survey instruments, testing equipment, and other systems to ensure products meet codes and requirements.
- Verify product alignment, level, and elevation.
- Keep daily logs, including photographs taken during inspections.
- Provide written feedback related to findings.
- Ensure the corporate ISO 9001:2008 quality management system, AISC certification, and ASME certification are maintained, documented, achieved, continuously improved, recertified, and renewed.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and prepared for audits by relevant accrediting agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
