Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust.
  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience developing projects, DevSecOps, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and technical architecture are required.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, and deploying production enterprise applications in Amazon Web Services using artificial intelligence/machine learning capabilities is required, including proficiency with EC2, S3, Aurora, RDS, OpenSearch, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and KMS.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification at the Associate or Professional level is required.
  • Experience leading DevSecOps initiatives and implementing automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using GitHub Enterprise, Harness, Maven, Gradle, Nexus Repository, NexusIQ, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Liquibase, and Prisma Cloud is required.
  • Experience designing and supporting containerized and cloud-native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Terraform, Alpine Linux, and Ubuntu is required.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Node.js, ReactJS, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, Jackson, JAXB, and REST-based services is required.
  • Experience implementing enterprise integration and event-driven architectures using Apigee, MuleSoft, Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Redis, and application programming interface management technologies is required.
  • Experience supporting artificial intelligence/machine learning and advanced analytics initiatives using Databricks, Python, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, Spark/Scala, and related machine-learning technologies is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, modernization, and deployment of enterprise applications supporting mission-critical federal programs.
  • Define and implement enterprise application architecture standards, cloud strategies, DevSecOps frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
  • Lead the design and implementation of secure continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated testing frameworks, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes supporting cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Architect cloud-native and containerized solutions using AWS services and Kubernetes-based platforms to support scalable and highly available applications.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of artificial intelligence/machine-learning-enabled solutions and collaborate with data science and engineering teams to operationalize machine-learning models and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Establish application security requirements and integrate automated security testing, vulnerability management, code-quality assessments, and compliance controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and implement enterprise integration and API-management solutions supporting interoperability across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Lead technical reviews, architecture assessments, solution evaluations, and modernization planning efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to software engineers, DevSecOps engineers, cloud engineers, architects, and development teams.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, business stakeholders, cybersecurity personnel, infrastructure teams, and external partners to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security requirements including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust principles.

By Nick Wakeman , Editor-in-Chief, Washington Technology September 3, 2026 03:02 PM ET The deal bulks up Xpect's national security portfolio, as the NewSpring-backed company builds out its mission tech stack. Xpect Solutions is adding artificial intelligence, automation, software development and other mission-focused capabilities through the acquisition of Amivero. The company didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal. The addition of Amivero is another step for NewSpring Holdings backed Xpect to build a technology company focused on the national security market. "Xpect's strategy has always been about building the capabilities our customers need to solve their most important mission challenges," said Yusuf Abdul-Salaam, CEO of Xpect Solutions. Xpect's strategy has focused on four technical disciplines: enterprise IT, cybersecurity, digital modernization, and data and AI. Amivero adds complementary capabilities and customer relationships. Its expertise includes AI and automation, fraud operations, digital identity and software development will be added to Xpect's strengths in network modernization, zero trust, cyber operations, physical security, cloud, DevSecOps and mission-focused data solutions. Together, the company will accelerate research and development and investment in repeatable solutions to help federal customers modernize and scale mission-critical systems, Xpect said in its announcement. Over the last year, Xpect has pulled in $40 million in unclassified prime contracts. Its biggest customer is the FBI, according to USASpending.gov. Amivero had about $32 million in unclassified prime contracts. Much of its work goes through the General Services Administration. The Homeland Security Department is its next biggest customer.
