Talkiatry partners with New York Cancer & Blood Specialists to integrate psychiatric care for oncology patients

Talkiatry, a nationwide psychiatric care provider, has partnered with New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) to deliver integrated mental health support for oncology patients through Talkiatry Connect, a care coordination platform. The partnership addresses significant unmet need: over 40% of cancer patients report worsening mental health during treatment, yet only half receive care for it. Talkiatry Connect embeds within NYCBS's electronic medical records, enabling clinicians to refer patients to psychiatric care and track progress through key milestones whilst maintaining appropriate privacy boundaries. NYCBS is an early adopter of the provider-facing referral app, which streamlines decision-making by identifying potential fit using existing chart information including diagnoses and insurance. Talkiatry employs over 800 full-time psychiatrists and has delivered 3 million patient visits to date.

Talkiatry launches Connect, a referral tool embedded in 30+ EMRs to streamline psychiatric referrals for providers

Talkiatry, the largest private employer of psychiatrists in the US, has launched Talkiatry Connect, a referral tool that embeds directly into cloud-based electronic medical records. The product enables primary care providers and specialists to refer patients to psychiatry and track their progress without leaving their workflow. The tool supports over 30 cloud-based EMRs, including Athenahealth and eClinicalWorks, and can be deployed within days at no additional cost to partners. An icon inside the EMR alerts providers when patients may benefit from psychiatric care, allowing one-click referrals with auto-populated patient information. With patient consent, referring providers can review clinical summaries after each visit. Talkiatry Connect is already being used at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. The company serves as the preferred psychiatry partner for over 50 US health systems.
