  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • A proven record of success generating sales in a mortgage lending environment.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of bank, mortgage, federal and state lending, and compliance and regulatory matters.
Responsibilities
  • Generate mortgage loans based on the criteria applicable to Mortgage Loan Consultants.
  • Recruit, train, and manage assigned Mortgage Loan Consultants based in production centers.
  • Meet loan origination objectives and implement leadership strategies to expand market share.
  • Manage the recruitment and retention of Mortgage Loan Consultants and business volumes.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures among supervised sales employees.
  • Manage the professionalism, customer service quality, and teamwork demonstrated by assigned employees.
  • Maintain and manage individual loan officer production levels to company standards.
  • Assist, train, and manage Mortgage Loan Consultants in cross-selling bank products.
  • Ensure the overall quality of loan submissions.
  • Ensure the growth of the sales team, branch, and/or region.
  • Review actual team performance against the team plan daily or weekly and implement actions to improve service quality.
  • Conduct or participate in assigned production meetings.
  • Proactively respond to and correct deficiencies.
  • Design, implement, and oversee a business development strategy consistent with First United Bank policies, objectives, and regulatory guidelines to manage and improve the mortgage lending sales force.
  • Provide leadership through recognition, coaching, and team building.
  • Determine the home financing needs of branch communities and ensure marketing efforts reach demographic market segments within those communities.
  • Perform other duties requested by executive management or the supervisor.
  • Complete all required annual compliance examinations.
  • Adhere to all First United policies and procedures.
  • Recommend methods to improve the department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ten years of experience in a mortgage lending environment is preferred.
  • At least one year of management experience is preferred.
