Building Automation Controls Service Technician
About the job
- Have 5 or more years of hands-on HVAC controls and/or building automation experience, or an associate degree or technical diploma in HVAC, Electronics, or Building Automation.
- Have prior experience with Delta Controls, Tridium Niagara, or comparable direct digital control systems; this experience is highly preferred.
- Have a strong background in systems integration, electrical schematics, network protocols such as BACnet and Modbus, and mechanical HVAC operations.
- Have a proven track record of outstanding customer service and professional communication.
- Be comfortable managing the workday independently, with attention to detail and safety.
- Complete required ongoing product and platform training.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within customer direct digital control systems and HVAC controls through high-priority spot service.
- Execute Technical Support Agreements according to company procedures and quality standards.
- Train facility operators and build long-term customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades, hardware retrofits, and new Technical Support Agreements to optimize customer operations and grow the business.
- Assist with project planning, system checkout, startup, turnover documentation, device requisitions, and manpower coordination.
- Participate in periodic 24/7 on-call emergency rotations and provide warranty support.
- Travel occasionally out of state to support critical customer sites and specialized installations.
- Experience with Delta Controls, Tridium Niagara, or comparable direct digital control systems is highly preferred.
