About the Role:

The Senior Transport Engineer will lead and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of transport infrastructure projects. This role demands a strong foundation in traffic engineering, transport planning, and multi-modal design, with the ability to manage complex projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Delivery
  Manage and deliver transport engineering projects from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
  Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Technical Expertise
  Apply advanced knowledge in traffic operations, transport design, and integrated transport assessments (ITAs)
  Conduct traffic modelling (e.g., SIDRA), safety audits, and multimodal transport analysis.
• Client Engagement
  Maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients.
  Provide strategic advice and technical input during project planning and stakeholder consultations.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare high-quality reports, business cases, and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and quality systems..
• Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then deliver a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
• Knowledge Management System: Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes for an area of responsibility.
• Business Requirements Identification: Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
• Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.
• Testing: Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards.
• Policy Development and Implementation: Help develop procedures for an area of the organization and monitor their implementation.
• Product and Solution Development: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
• Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
• Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transport engineering or planning
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in traffic modelling tools, GIS, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with UAE transport regulations and infrastructure projects is a plus
