Requirements
  • A Master's degree is required.
  • Six to eight years of experience in debt advisory, particularly project finance and acquisition finance, a combined lending and advisory role, and/or M&A advisory, with a solid deals list including financing structures with tax equity or tax credits.
  • Strong financial modeling expertise in project finance, valuation, and capital stack analysis including tax credits, along with analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses are required.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and supervise and mentor junior internal resources.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision when needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under time pressure.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in formulating group strategy and deal targeting.
  • Help originate, maintain, and strengthen relationships with clients, potential clients, lenders, tax equity and tax credit investors, and due diligence advisors.
  • Participate in marketing efforts and prepare internal and external pitches and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with coverage, Project Finance lending, syndication, and Global Markets teams to identify opportunities, propose new business ideas, and convert them into mandates.
  • Play a key role in structuring and executing transactions end to end, including owning certain deliverables.
  • Communicate with clients about assigned transaction aspects.
  • Supervise the financial modeling workstream and related optimization, sensitivity, valuation, and model audit analyses.
  • Lead the preparation of deal materials, including information memoranda and information for sponsor and lender approvals.
  • Assist with financing and project documentation review and negotiations.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external advisors to complete due diligence.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, including associates, analysts, and interns.
  • Foster cross-selling of CIB products in coordination with relevant CIB teams.
  • Oversee and contribute to internal and external administrative tasks.
  • Travel for internal and external meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or specialization in Finance is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but is not a prerequisite.
  • Experience as an associate or junior vice president at an investment bank, advisory firm, or commercial bank, including lending and advisory experience, or experience on the sponsor or developer side at funds or utilities.
