Sr. Android Engineer

Essential Job Duties

We are looking for a senior Android software developer with both the excitement and ability necessary to build a modern, dynamic mobile app in a way that supports our vision of delivering a world-class experience to our customers.

This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to create highly interactive mobile apps our customers love, to match our enterprise-level web application. Expertise in native Android frameworks is essential for this position. If you are an expert Android developer and love building awesome mobile apps, we want to talk to you!

You will

• Collaborate heavily with other mobile engineers, product managers, UX designers, and QA engineers as you create amazing Android apps like the 5-star BambooHR mobile app.
• Work closely with the mobile development team to plan, execute, and release projects.
• Research technologies and engineer complete solutions to problems.
• Propose and implement performance optimizations and scaling strategies.
• Integrate and influence our API to save and consume data consistent with our web application.
• Come to work, do great things, then go home!

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• Expert at native Android development using Kotlin
• Experience with Jetpack Compose for building native Android UI
• Mastery of object oriented programming
• Very familiar with Android Studio or a comparable IDE
• Proficient at integrating mobile apps with APIs
• Desire to continue increasing mobile unit test coverage
• Enjoy working on a tight knit mobile development team
• Passionate about developing high quality mobile apps that people love to use
• Comfortable working in legacy and current code
• Ability to work effectively from anywhere

What Will Make Us REALLY Love you

• Previous work samples demonstrating proficiency in building highly interactive Android apps
• Releasing production apps is easy for you. Everything from deploying builds, to navigating the Play Store, to keeping up with the latest OS changes.
• Experience in iOS and Swift
• Knowledge of API design best practices
