Requirements
  • High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course.
  • More than three years up to five years of job-related experience.
  • More than five years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
  • High school diploma plus trades training and certification.
  • Ability to lead a team of individuals.
  • Highly advanced ability to adhere to processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Highly advanced ability to maintain and repair building mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Highly advanced building mechanical and electrical equipment and system troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards.
  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner with a high level of environmental, health and safety awareness.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Journeyman-level refrigeration trade license.
  • Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, be on-call, and respond to emergencies.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to drive to and perform work at multiple sites.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of individual contributors.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor work progress to ensure completion, timeliness, quality standards, and related requirements.
  • Review work for completeness and accuracy and ensure quality adherence is maintained.
  • Guide, coach, and train direct reports.
  • Provide input for performance reviews.
  • Oversee and monitor Technicians' activities and performance within assigned facilities.
  • Ensure activities follow established processes and internal and external environmental, health and safety, and fire protection requirements.
  • Oversee and perform facility and mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring, inspection, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
  • Provide observations about facility and equipment conditions and deficiencies and recommendations for enhancement and repair.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs and monitor and inspect mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment.
  • Respond to routine and on-demand service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Maintain work order records in the service management maintenance database and initiate documents to obtain formal approval for required work.
  • Coordinate and assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program.
  • Identify, record, and escalate deficiencies and maintain related documentation.
  • Coordinate and participate in facility-related projects.
  • Maintain assigned tools and arrange for repair or replacement when required.
  • Submit expenditures in a timely manner.
  • Provide, participate in, and support training, safety meetings, operational meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction and maintain positive relations through the performance and delivery of services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Gasfitter I and II license in addition to a journeyman-level refrigeration license.
  • Previous people leadership experience.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000. Gord Hicks continues as chief executive officer and will lead the business with his management team. CCMP and AIMCo had backed BGIS since 2019. Veritas Capital, a technology investor focused on companies operating at the intersection of technology and government, manages over $54 billion in assets. James Dimitri, partner and co-head of flagship private equity at Veritas, led the transaction for the firm.
