Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain the operational readiness of the AutoStore and SLAM systems at fully automated locations.
  • Inventory and account for repair parts for the AutoStore and SLAM systems.
  • Order repair parts for the AutoStore and SLAM systems as they are consumed.
  • Protect and improve the value of Cardinal Health assets and ensure that ASRS and all supply-line distribution equipment and systems, including PSI, continue to perform their intended functions.
  • Implement and manage the reliability-based maintenance function, execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs, define and implement maintenance best practices to improve mechanical equipment uptime, and continuously evaluate and improve maintenance, operations, and reliability methods.
  • Monitor and maintain ASRS equipment, including robots, conveyors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment; review logs as necessary to assure proper operation; and report problems or malfunctions as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturing standards and frequencies using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Oversee repairs and preventive maintenance of ASRS equipment and implement repair and preventive-maintenance frequencies according to manufacturers' recommendations, standards, and warranty requirements.
  • Ensure an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the ASRS and associated automation, including PSI.
  • Oversee contractors working within the ASRS distribution area and SLAM line, including operational demonstrations and training sessions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Four or more years of experience working with commercial operating systems and general maintenance procedures.
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) credential, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of work order management experience.
  • Experience with electrical and electronic principles and industrial electronics.
  • Ability to complete training to become a PSI SLAM Line and Swisslog Super User, including manually moving robots and bins throughout the system, rescuing robots from the grid, accessing the system, and identifying, diagnosing, and resolving system issues using the AutoStore portal.
  • Experience making repairs and adjustments to robots, ports, and other system components using the AutoStore portal.
  • Ability to open tickets with PSI and the Swisslog global helpdesk and help troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with Java, Microsoft technologies, and C++.
  • High familiarity with the AutoStore Console.

Cardinal Health forecast fiscal 2027 profit between $12.40 and $12.60 per share, exceeding analyst expectations of $12.04, driven by strong demand for specialty drugs. The US drug distributor's shares rose over 4% in premarket trading. The company's fourth-quarter adjusted profit of $2.91 per share beat estimates of $2.42. However, total revenue of $63.67 billion missed expectations of $65.03 billion. Cardinal Health is benefiting from rising demand for biosimilars and high-margin medicines treating cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune diseases. Its Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions unit saw sales increase 6% to $55.4 billion. Last month, Cardinal purchased AdaptHealth's diabetes business and Strive Medical for approximately $360 million combined. The company also announced $1 billion in planned share repurchases for fiscal 2027.

Cardinal Health has agreed to acquire multi-specialty supply company Strive Medical and AdaptHealth's diabetes business for a combined $360 million in cash. The drug distributor said the acquisitions will expand its at-home solutions business, which delivers medical supplies directly to patients. The deals build on Cardinal's recent investments in home care services. The company's at-home unit generated $1.7 billion in revenue during its third quarter this year, helping grow profit by 34% year over year. Cardinal expects the acquisitions to be earnings accretive within a year of closing.
