We are looking for an Intern to join our Continuous Improvement team. The goal of the Continuous Improvement Internship at Wisk is to support the build out, implementation, and growth of Wisk’s Enterprise Continuous Improvement Program (WeCI); including assisting in the creation of training materials, supporting CI projects, and engaging across the organization. You will be part of the Production Systems team that focuses on the improvement and/or creation of business and production processes to ensure optimized and sustainable growth throughout all functions of the company.
Why we need you
A successful candidate has experience working on cross functional projects in a developmental and production stage environment. It is helpful to have an understanding of Lean methodologies and how they can be applied. In this role, the candidate must be detail oriented, self motivated, able to communicate effectively and collaborate with multiple stakeholders including People Operations (HR), Marketing, Strategy, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and more.
What you will do:
- Support the creation of process mapping materials
- Develop training materials, standard tools/templates, and communications
- Support process improvement initiatives and deliverables
- Illustrate and evaluate existing processes; perform qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of strategic recommendations
- Engage with cross-functional project teams via process improvement workshops
- Support implementation, change management, communication, and results monitoring
- Collect data for process measurements, identify indicators for future improvement opportunities, and to identify root causes
- Balance customers and key stakeholders, perform stakeholder analysis, maintain engagement, and build consensus across the project team on the optimal solution to ensure early buy-in of the to-be state and improve adoption
- Support the capture of ‘Voice of Customers’ (VOC)-- business challenges, opportunities, and risks with stakeholders; understand “why”, and distinguish needs from wants
- Document requirements during interviews and surveys, and workshops
- Provide feedback on lessons learned documentation/ownership and continuous improvement
Required Skills/Experience:
- You are earning a Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business.
- You have 6-9 months of work related experience
- You have business acumen and analytical skills, including process improvement, and data analysis
- You have the ability to gather, synthesize, document, and analyze complex business processes using process modeling methods
- You have an understanding of process and value-stream mapping using tools like LucidChart, Visio, MS Project, JMP, Smartsheets, PowerPoint
- You have an understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Operation methodologies such as DMAIC, and Agile
Desired:
- Experience or interest in automotive or aerospace
- Self starter attitude with a passion for making a difference
- Six Sigma training
Hourly rate will be $20 USD an hour.
This internship role will be based at Wisk’s headquarters in Mountain View, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.

Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college
Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
