About the Job

Requirements

  • Ability to shape project direction, earn the trust of engineers, product managers, and senior stakeholders, and move a team without formal authority.
  • Ability to build and ship front-end applications using TypeScript, React, CSS, and animation, with strong design judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take a problem from ambiguity to a shipped experience independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craft in both flows and logic and visual execution.
  • Ability to complete and ship polished work rather than leaving it at an acceptable interim state.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype ideas in hours rather than days.
  • Ability to think in systems and build reusable, maintainable user interfaces.
  • Interest in artificial intelligence and defining new interaction paradigms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build user experience and user interface flows, components, and interactions that simplify complex legal workflows.
  • Rapidly prototype new concepts in code to validate ideas before committing to a full build.
  • Bridge design and engineering by turning designs into shipped code and advancing design through technical craft.
  • Own the quality of user interface implementation across the product, including pixel-perfect execution and detailed interactions.
  • Help define product direction, frame ambiguous problems, and design end-to-end flows behind the interface.
  • Contribute to the design system and component libraries that enable the team to ship faster.
  • Use artificial intelligence to explore, prototype, and develop alternatives to traditional user experience and user interface patterns.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience building or scaling design systems.
  • Experience building developer tools, technical products, or other complex software for expert users.
  • Formal design training, or an equivalent track record.
  • A genuine interest in how legal work is performed.

About the Company

Wordsmith AI

Legal operations platform for in-house teams

Wordsmith AI provides a legal operations platform for in-house teams that acts as a single front door for all legal requests. It captures requests from email, Slack, Salesforce, Teams, or casual questions, automatically triages and routes them by priority, potential revenue impact, and jurisdiction, and then handles routine work through agents using the team’s playbook. It records ownership, decisions, and rationale in real time so lawyers only step in when judgment is needed. The product suite includes intake, contract review and drafting, research, repositories, and reporting, with integrations to Microsoft Word, Slack, and Microsoft 365. Wordsmith serves hundreds of companies and aims to scale its AI platform, expand into the US, and grow its team and customer base after a recent €60.2 million Series B funding.
