Program ManagementConfirmed live in the last 24 hours
Full-timeSan Francisco, CA, USA

About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is required, with 6+ years in technical program management, technical product management, engineering program management, or a comparable role; equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a technical program or internal system, from requirements through delivery and sustained adoption by users who were not required to use it.
  • Experience in environments where physical asset state and software state must be reconciled, such as autonomous vehicles, automotive, electric vehicles, robotics, or aerospace.
  • Working knowledge of engineering change and configuration management, including bill of materials structure and revision control, engineering change request and engineering change order workflows, effectivity, serialization and genealogy, and as-designed to as-built reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of software configuration and release management, including version and build identity, update and flashing paths, parameter and calibration management, and fleet-wide version reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience designing an operational process and measuring adherence to it, including the ability to describe what was measured and the results.
  • Strong written communication across requirements, decision records, and status reporting for technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week in San Francisco, regularly spend time in the garage and around machines, and travel to deployment and test sites.

Responsibilities

  • Own the as-designed, as-built, and as-running configuration record for every platform, covering hardware revision and serialization, harness and sensor set, compute generation, calibration state, and firmware and software versions.
  • Define the configuration data model, including item and revision structure, effectivity rules, and platform abstractions that work across differing vehicle types.
  • Define how configuration data is captured at the point of work so that build, modification, service, and software update events update the record through tools technicians and engineers already use.
  • Own record accuracy as a measured metric, including audit methods and the cadence at which audits run.
  • Establish how to determine which vehicles are eligible for a software release, test campaign, or data collection mission, and document why any vehicle is excluded.
  • Define how logged data and test results are tied to the configuration that produced them, and partner with software and data teams on provenance in validation and training workflows.
  • Define configuration requirements for product lifecycle management, enterprise resource planning, manufacturing execution, and inventory systems, and own integration design between those systems and the configuration record.
  • Partner with vehicle integration, manufacturing and technician teams, autonomy and software release, safety, supply chain, and operations; resolve conflicting requirements across them.

About the Company

Atoms

Builds robots for food, mining and transport

Atoms builds machines and software that automate physical work in food, mining, and transport, and it makes specialized robots that each do one productive job rather than general-purpose humanoids. Its flagship business, CloudKitchens, builds delivery-only kitchens that restaurants rent to cook meals for delivery apps. At mines and quarries, its Pronto system adds sensors and driving software to existing haul trucks so they run on their own, while Otter software gathers restaurants' delivery-app orders in one place; Atoms earns money from kitchen rent, software subscriptions, and mining customers. The company was founded in 2016 and is based in Los Angeles, United States.
