About the job
- Relevant training for the role; higher education in the field and/or training at a hotel or tourism school is preferred.
- Proven experience in the role in tourist cruises and/or hospitality.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of provisioning techniques and stock management in accommodation services.
- Knowledge of HACCP.
- Availability to work aboard the Douro River during the cruise season.
- Supervise daily cleaning and tidying of cabins, common areas, and other vessel sections, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Coordinate and lead the cleaning team by providing clear directions and ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Manage section stock and ensure necessary products and materials are available to maintain service quality.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operations effectively and contribute to a positive cruise experience for guests.
- Ensure safety and HACCP procedures are followed in all areas under supervision.
- Report problems or issues to the Hotel Ship Director and collaborate on solutions.
- Ensure the team is trained in cleaning and tidying best practices and vessel-specific procedures.
- Participate in loadings and customer embarkations.
- Develop empathetic qualities when interacting with all colleagues, particularly newcomers.
- Knowledge of German or French is preferred.
