- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, misalignment, lubrication deficiencies, and other maintenance concerns.
- Complete lubrication, belt adjustments, component replacements, and routine maintenance activities.
- Document maintenance findings and report equipment concerns to maintenance leadership.
- Support efforts to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of warehouse support equipment including dock equipment, fans, air compressors, and facility systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Support emergency equipment repairs and operational uptime initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.
- Record labor hours, repairs completed, and parts used.
- Assist with identifying replacement parts and inventory requirements.
- Communicate equipment issues and repair status to maintenance leadership.
- Follow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, PPE, and company safety requirements.
- Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Experience in warehouse automation, distribution, or manufacturing environments.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.

Dutch cleantech firm Vertoro has raised €17 million to commercialise its biomass-to-oil technology. The company converts biomass into renewable oil intended for use in maritime and aviation fuels, offering a sustainable alternative for hard-to-decarbonise transport sectors.
Maersk reported first-quarter EBITDA of $1.75 billion, down 35% year-on-year but meeting expectations. Revenue fell 2.6% to $13 billion, whilst loaded ocean volumes grew 9.3%. The Iran conflict, which began on 28 February, has driven bunker fuel prices from $600 to nearly $1,000 per metric tonne, adding approximately $500 million monthly to operating costs. Maersk has passed most costs to customers through contract renegotiations and higher spot rates, maintaining its full-year EBITDA guidance of $4.5–7 billion. CEO Vincent Clerc warned of risks ahead: higher shipping costs may dampen consumer spending, reducing cargo volumes just as new vessels enter service. Shares fell 7% as markets priced in these concerns.
Maersk reported a sharp decline in first-quarter profits, with net earnings falling to $100 million, approximately 12 times lower than the previous year. Revenue slipped 2.6% to just under $13 billion, whilst earnings per share dropped to $4 from $74 a year earlier. The Copenhagen-based shipping giant cited weaker freight rates in its Ocean division as the primary cause, though a 9.3% rise in volumes helped offset some losses. The company said the Middle East conflict, which began on 28 February 2026, has introduced fresh uncertainty, with traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remaining "at a near standstill". Despite the challenges, Maersk maintained its full-year guidance, expecting global container demand to grow 2% to 4% in 2026. The company's share price fell 4% on Nasdaq Copenhagen following the announcement.
Maersk and Altana have partnered to build the first digital trade network within a major global logistics infrastructure. The initiative integrates AI-powered trade compliance into Maersk's Gemini Cooperation, covering 12 key international ports that handle 70% of global trade. The partnership introduces "Product Passports" — product-level identity markers enabling pre-cleared goods to move through customs more efficiently. Altana's passport manager connects importers and logistics providers directly to customs authorities worldwide, functioning as "Global Entry for Goods". The system uses a federated data model allowing Maersk to share product passports with local customs authorities without reciprocal data sharing. Customs authorities can verify shipments against local regulations whilst Altana's AI provides compliance recommendations. The Gemini Cooperation, launched in February 2025 by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, has achieved schedule performance exceeding 90% across East-West trade routes.
Hai Robotics and Maersk have launched a high-density robotic fulfilment centre in Singapore designed for fashion supply chains, capable of handling both retail distribution and e-commerce orders simultaneously. The facility, opened in February 2026, deploys storage robots operating across racks exceeding 10 metres in height, moving over 1,000 totes per hour. The system combines high-density storage with autonomous mobile robots to maintain throughput without congestion. Workstations can be dynamically reconfigured to switch between bulk retail shipments and individual e-commerce orders as demand shifts. The operation uses real-time data to optimise inventory placement, order sequencing and maintenance cycles. Integration with Maersk's warehouse systems was validated virtually before deployment, accelerating implementation whilst meeting fire safety requirements at the 10-metre operating height.
