Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work independently, think and plan ahead, and bring issues to management's attention.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Office productivity tools, including Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain attention to detail, and provide accurate work products.
Responsibilities
  • Source medium- and high-criticality materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
  • Lead small groups and provide backup support for the Project Procurement Manager.
  • Develop negotiating strategies, assign work, and oversee and mentor less-tenured peers.
  • Perform sourcing activities for estimating support during Deal Development and Procurement Execution from request for proposal solicitation through contract award.
  • Perform commercial analysis of bidders' proposals, write and submit recommendations of award, and conduct bidder conferences.
  • Engage and maintain supplier relationships on awarded contracts and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage contract life-cycle administration and supplier relationships.
  • Establish core contract management processes and contract content to monitor and manage contract compliance.
  • Participate in procurement project management teams to support contract compliance.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, provide negotiation support, and resolve contractual issues.
  • Advise on Master Agreement Program contract development.
  • Support Deal Development and estimating efforts, including issuing requests for information.
  • Lead medium- to high-criticality sourcing events by researching assigned items, developing sourcing strategies and supplier lists, issuing request for proposal packages and amendments, developing performance-based scopes of work, and understanding specifications and drawing packages.
  • Conduct bidder conferences and coordinate discussions between bidders and technical personnel.
  • Evaluate proposals, conduct supplier negotiations, and negotiate contract awards.
  • Write supplier recommendations explaining and supporting source selection decisions.
  • Understand terms and conditions and contract formation.
  • Support contract administration and subcontract management.
  • Participate in supplier and subcontractor kickoff and closeout meetings.
  • Scope and negotiate contract change orders and amendments.
  • Participate in weekly procurement meetings.
  • Serve as work leader by assigning work, overseeing Level 1 and Level 2 activities, and providing backup support to the Project Procurement Manager.
  • Provide mentorship to the team and other procurement personnel.
  • Manage complex, higher-profile technical procurement work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of procurement processes and procedures and execute work according to Zachry's standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of Oracle, Dragnet, PPMS, and other job-specific information technology support systems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, engineers, construction personnel, and key stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using Microsoft Office productivity tools, including Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Experience creating document templates and workflows in digital document approval platforms such as DocuSign and Adobe Sign.
  • A bachelor's degree or a diploma with equivalent working experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Five to seven years of related industry experience.
  • Large industrial construction procurement experience.
  • Experience in multiple industrial market sectors.
  • Prior experience interfacing with client and engineering entities.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
