About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of progressive commercial, deal desk, or pricing experience, including at least 3 years leading a Deal Desk function at a high-growth SaaS, hardware, or hardware-as-a-service company.
  • Direct Deal Desk experience is required, ideally covering enterprise customer deals and strategic partner or channel deals.
  • Experience with software-as-a-service and hardware is strongly preferred, including understanding BOM cost, deployment cost, residual value, asset financing, and the economics of selling versus renting physical products.
  • A strong pricing background, including ownership of pricing strategy and execution, unit economics, packaging architecture, and competitive positioning.
  • Fluency with subscription and multi-element commercial models such as RaaS, equipment-as-a-service, SaaS, and hardware-plus-services bundles, and comfort working with Revenue Accounting on IFRS 15 and ASC 606 implications.
  • Experience in a multi-region environment, ideally across DACH and North America, and ability to work in English and German.
  • Strong command of CPQ, CRM, and quote-to-cash tooling, such as Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, DealHub, Conga, or equivalents.
  • A systems and AI mindset, including experience building lean commercial functions, automating approval and pricing workflows, and experimenting with AI in day-to-day work.
  • Judgment to hold a considered position with senior commercial leadership under time pressure and creativity to develop commercial structures serving both customer and business needs.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving Series C environment, and enthusiasm for building.
  • Ability to work as a player-coach, handling detailed work while driving topics and developing people.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Deal Desk function end-to-end and be accountable for how deals are priced, structured, approved, and booked; build playbooks, approval matrices, and service-level agreements for standard and non-standard deals.
  • Lead deal strategy for complex enterprise opportunities and strategic partner deals, including multi-site rollouts, frame agreements, pilot-to-scale conversions, and pricing for new commercial constructs.
  • Own pricing strategy and execution across hardware, software, services, and RaaS subscriptions; manage discount governance, list-price reviews, and packaging changes; develop pricing intelligence using win/loss analysis, deal economics, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Translate the financial model, including unit economics, gross margin targets, cash profile, RPO, and ARR mechanics, into pricing, terms, and deal structures that enable the commercial team to act; lead decisions and shape alternatives for deals outside established parameters.
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting on revenue-recognition implications under IFRS 15 and ASC 606, including lease-versus-service classification, SSP allocation, variable consideration, and contract modifications.
  • Own quote-to-cash operations from opportunity to booking, including CPQ, approval workflows, order forms, and handoffs to Revenue, Deployment, and Customer Success; reduce cycle time and improve deal quality.
  • Hire a small, senior Deal Desk team across Munich and the US, and design tooling and AI-leveraged workflows to support a growing global Sales organization.
  • Advise Account Executives and regional leaders and build deal-structuring capability across the sales organization through coaching on commercial constructs, negotiation strategy, and deal economics.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with software-as-a-service and hardware, ideally in robotics, industrial equipment, capital equipment leasing, IoT, medical devices, or similar.
  • Experience with enterprise customer deals involving multiple years, sites, and complex commercial constructs, as well as strategic partner or channel deals such as OEM agreements, reseller programs, and integrator partnerships.
  • Experience designing and implementing CPQ and approval workflows from scratch.
