Requirements
  • A Class A hazardous materials license, a clean driving record, and a valid medical card are required.
  • Applicants must be willing to run out-of-state routes.
  • Applicants must be willing to work full-time hours, approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Applicants must pass a seven-year FADV review in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Applicants must have experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
  • Applicants must have six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks.
  • Applicants must have experience operating straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long in a safe manner.
  • Applicants must have experience with Department of Transportation compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
  • Applicants must be confident conducting level 1 through level 3 road checks.
  • Applicants must demonstrate reliable on-time delivery practices and proven longevity in past employment.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers safely at customer locations.
  • Drive over the road for trips lasting up to 10 days.
  • Perform drop-and-hook operations with minimal live unloading.
  • Operate straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long safely.
  • Complete deliveries according to the schedule and communicate changes or challenges clearly.
  • Load and unload materials, prioritizing and organizing the truck according to the schedule and operational needs.
  • Manage routes according to leadership direction and deliver timely, efficient, and effective service.
  • Sleep in a sleeper tractor during over-the-road routes.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
  • Perform heavy lifting.
  • Provide customer service and build positive customer relationships.
