About the company

G

Groundwork Collaborative

View

Groundwork Collaborative is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit think tank and advocacy group that analyzes economic policy to promote shared prosperity. It conducts research on inflation, corporate pricing behavior, student debt, and labor markets, and it runs data tools (like a database of earnings calls) to support its analysis and messaging. It differentiates itself by pairing economic research with narrative change and coalition-building, notably through initiatives such as ProsperUS and the Fighting Chance for Families campaign. Its goal is to shift policy toward stronger public investment and protections for workers and families, using data-driven insights and public storytelling to influence policy and public debate.

What believers are saying

  • Owens' September 29, 2026 book launch expands brand reach beyond policy circles.
  • August 2026 Ipsos polling on AI workplace fears gives Groundwork fresh evidence and headlines.
  • April 2026 executive hires signal continued investment in digital distribution and operational scaling.

What critics are saying

  • Groundwork remains fiscally sponsored by New Venture Fund, limiting financial transparency and independence.
  • Its anti-profiteering frame depends on inflation politics; a 2026 macro cool-down weakens urgency.
  • A donor pullback at Arabella-linked sponsors would choke staff growth and advocacy capacity fast.

What makes Groundwork Collaborative unique

  • Lindsay Owens turned Groundwork into a national voice on surveillance pricing by January 2026.
  • Its August 4, 2026 Senate testimony on AI pricing shows policy access and relevance.
  • Groundwork pairs research with media operations, plus a new digital chief in April 2026.
