- 15+ years in finance leadership, with prior Chief Financial Officer or divisional Chief Financial Officer experience.
- Direct private equity portfolio company experience.
- Manufacturing cost accounting depth, including standard cost, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Hands-on cash management under constraint.
- Lender relationship experience, including covenant negotiation.
- Comfort with a finance function that is understaffed, under-systemized, or both.
- Produce a defensible number quickly and manage cash under pressure.
- Take the Chief Financial Officer seat and install the reporting discipline required by the sponsor.
- Stabilize the finance function for a permanent hire or carry the business through a specific event, such as a covenant issue, system conversion, or exit process.
- Own cash flow forecasting and management, typically with a 13-week rolling forecast at minimum.
- Improve working capital across receivables, payables, and inventory.
- Establish monthly close discipline and reporting quality, prioritizing accuracy and then speed.
- Own the sponsor and lender reporting package, including covenant compliance.
- Establish budget, forecast, and variance discipline that the operating team can use.
- Design financial metrics and key performance indicator architecture aligned to the investment thesis.
- Communicate with the board and sponsor.
- Assess and develop the existing finance team.
- Establish a trusted cash forecast and monthly close during the first 90 days, then improve the financial results.
- Enterprise resource planning conversion experience.
- Exit or sale process participation.
- Distressed or turnaround situations experience.
- Master of Business Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant.
