Your role at Clorox:
The Quality Engineering Capabilities Manager is crucial in ensuring that our products and services meet the highest quality standards. This position involves evaluating, developing, and implementing new quality assurance capabilities (tools, controls, processes, etc.) that helps improve quality assurance metrics, mainly focusing on manufacturing excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Developing and Implementing Best Practices: Establish and maintain quality assurance and/or control best practices such as new processes and tools. Analyze data to drive continuous improvement in product and service quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality assurance and control tools, processes, and best practices. This collaboration is essential for designing, improving, and ensuring product quality.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Utilize a strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills to address quality issues and implement effective solutions. A passion for quality and efficiency is vital in this role.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement Tools: Apply basic quality and continuous improvement tools, experience, and skills to ensure process capability from design through commercialization. This includes interacting with various organizational levels to communicate and align on recommended QA practices and controls.
- Standard Quality and Troubleshooting Principles: Apply standard quality and troubleshooting principles to assigned initiatives where a new quality capability’s evaluation, development, and implementation may be needed.
- Operational Excellence Platform: Use and support the quality and operational excellence journey as a key reference to prioritize creating processes and tools that enable the manufacturing sites to improve performance successfully. This platform will help identify and prioritize quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that the most critical areas for the manufacturing sites are addressed first.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Develop, implement, and maintain quality tools and processes. Provide operational support and analytical problem-solving by leveraging internal and external experts. Manage improvement plans and activities related to Quality Engineering Capabilities, ensuring standard practices are in place. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and recommend quality capabilities accordingly. Serve as the SME for key Quality Engineering Capabilities, such as statistical control, acceptance sampling, problem-solving, etc.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline quality processes and enhance efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate potential quality issues by incorporating new Quality Assurance best practices. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of process improvements. Support the continuous improvement of the Quality function by identifying and resolving gaps and waste in systems, tools, and processes. Serve as the SME for key Quality Control processes to ensure they are effectively managed, standardized, maintained, and continuously improved. Use best practices from leading organizations to guide process improvement efforts.
- Data Capabilities: Support the design, development, and implementation of new tools to collect, analyze, and interpret Quality Assurance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Gather feedback to improve KPI Dashboard functionality and usability continuously.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate quality improvement initiatives and progress to stakeholders. Gather feedback from stakeholders to inform quality improvement strategies. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Direct experience in manufacturing and operations is preferred.
- Proven record of leading, developing, and managing quality improvement initiatives.
- A Quality Certification (e.g. CQE, CSSBB, CMQ/OE) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Proven relationship skills with proven ability to achieve sustainable partnerships and internal and external collaboration.
- Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools, including statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to identifying even minor quality issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration ability to work with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate quality standards, processes, and tools. Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
- Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in using software and tools for data analysis, such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant industry regulations and quality standards.
- Project Management: Skills to manage quality improvement projects effectively. Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Quality Management Systems: Familiarity with quality management systems.
- Problem-solving Tools: Knowledge of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Highly Flexible and Adaptable. Able to work independently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time or more.
- Desired experience related to reporting/dashboard capabilities (eQMS, Power Bi, SAP, etc.)

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $104,100 - $199,100
–Zone B: $95,500 - $183,300
–Zone C: $86,800 - $166,600
