We are seeking Software Engineers who wish to accelerate their skills and focus on tackling the most difficult challenges of the US Government, in one of the most exciting areas of the mission available. Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing (We don’t love the bullet points, but we love the work!)

As a Software Engineer, you'll be part of an elite team tasked with implementing a Zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) solution as part of our cutting-edge Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. It's like magic, but with code! Your days will be filled with analyzing requirements, designing like a boss, coding up a storm, testing, and integrating COTS and FOSS products together like a master chef whipping up a gourmet meal. 

You will get to work with cutting edge systems which might include (but are likely not limited to) processing intensive analytics (remember, this is HPC), novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets (again, HPC!), real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. All being critical to the success of the customer and the overall mission at large.

Required Skills

– Experience using the Linux CLI

– Scripting using Bash/Python

– Developing software in Python 

– Experience with SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB

– Experience with designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs  

– Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins

– Familiar with Git Version Control System

Position Desired Skills

– Experience with Messaging Frameworks such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, and RabbitMQ 

– Experience with tools used for metrics visualization e.g., Grafana, Kibana

– Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

– Familiar with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible  

– Demonstrated experience processing Big Data

– Familiarity of Atlassian Tool Suite, Jira and Confluence 

– Appreciates a sense of humor and the occasional well-timed joke.

Qualifications

– (2) years’ experience as a Software Engineer

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
